Hi, we're making a short trip to Disney March 10-15th. Thinking of taking a day trip to a beach in the Sarasota area.

Wondering what the traffic might be like along I-4 and I-75 at that time of year? According to Mapquest, without traffic it would be about a 2-hour ride.

Thanks for any thoughts on this!

Other than Tampa at rush hour, it should be a speed limit ride.

I have traveled between Disney and Sarasota several times! It isn't too bad except for during rush hour. But all in all will probably take your an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours! Which beach are you planning on going to? I heading to longboat key! Great place to spend time!

kgoodBoo, we are heading to either Siesta Key or Anna Maria Island - haven't decided yet. Longboat Key looks great too! Thanks for the first-hand info. on the travel time!

I frequently make the trip from Sarasota-Bradenton to Disneyworld and although it is a fairly painless trip, I wouldn't suggest driving all the way to Sarasota just to go to the beach. From Disneyworld, you're only an hour away from the Atlantic Beaches - It could literally be a day trip.

So unless you're going to Sarasota for another reason, I'd head East instead.
