Disney to halt boy scout funding in protest to gay leader ban

For one is proud of Disney for taking this stand not that it will change anything but maybe it will at least they don't just talk and do stuff maybe if other company's follow suit they will make the right change.

I'm kind of glad they did this too. "kind of" because I'm afraid it might hurt the scouts. But I'm happy Disney is sending this message since one of my grandsons has two moms.

Kind of glad, too. For the same reason. We'll see.

But Disney is a private company, not a government entity, so they can choose to spend their money anyway they want. The only folks they have to answer to are the shareholders.

Another nod in sad agreement.

I am the mother of 2 Eagle Scouts, who are now actually ashamed to tell anyone of their high honor. They no longer want to be associated with what's in the press and the philosophy of the BSA main offices.

We were fortunate to have been in an open and welcoming troop. Not all are like that- and I am sure our sons would not have stayed in another environment.

I agree! My daughter is a girl scout and husband an eagle scout-we'd love for our son to participate when he's old enough but things need to change first.

Honestly, the part that is surprising to me is that Disney is just now pulling their support. This issue with BSA's policies has been going on for quite some time. I'm glad Disney is taking this approach and I'm surprised they didn't do it sooner.
