Disney Timeshare 2012 or 2013 What would you do?

I'm looking a few years in advance, because we may have to save up timeshare weeks. We're looking at heading back to Disney either Fall 2012 or 2013 to celebrate my granddaughter's fourth or fifth birthday. Right now, there will probably be four of us (including my DGD), however there may be a fifth. We'll need at least two bedrooms, and I would not be unhappy with a third bedroom.

Right now, we own at two Wyndham resorts. We own a week (on RCI weeks) at the Virgin Islands which we trade yearly. I know our trading power on that is about 15. We also own a week (on points) every other years...the even years in the Smokey Mountains.

Last two times we went to Disney, we stayed at Orange Lake. We enjoyed it, but I'm wondering could we get closer..possibly on Disney. We have stayed onsite, but it's been nearly 20 years.

Here are our options:

1) Try to trade into one of the DVC resorts. I realize we would have to use up two of our Virgin Islands weeks...or if we can, use up one VI week and one Smokey Mountain week. We probably wouldn't be able to do that until 2013. We've already traded our 2011 week.

2) Try to get into Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Best alternative there would be to use our Smokey Mountain week, since that is on points. But I don't know if we have enough points to get a two bedroom at BC. We could again try to trade into BC.

3) Stay at Orange Lake again. Or possibly one of the other RCI resorts.

We'll drive, so transportation isn't an issue. But is it better to be closer. And possibly, experience the Disney magic again?

As always, many thanks.

While OLCC is a nice resort it is not in a great location (practically in another county) and is too large & thus variable in condition and convenience (you end up having to drive around just to get at things at the resort). Mega resorts don't appeal to us anymore as we have refined our ideal vacation spots over the years.

A timeshare much closer to Disney (or Universal/Seaworld if you plan to do those) is a much more desirable area for us. There are some all around the Disney gates with our favorite area in Lake Buena Vista for ease of access to all of the parks - Disney or others - and virtually every restaurant/service you could ever want.

Of course there is Bonnet Creek or the other Wyndham resorts on 192 that you should be able to get easily with your points. Those may be your best value.

LadyBeBop.. are you aware that you can now use wyndham points to stay at DVC resorts or any other timeshare throught the wyndham website? Also, if you do not have enough wyndham points to reserve at bonnet creek another option would be to rent the week from a wyndham owner. Lots of weeks available at redweek.com or ebay. When I am out of wyndham points I have rented a unit on ebay for approximately $750 for a 2 bedroom.

Didn't know I could do so through Wyndham. I knew I could do it through RCI.

That's an option, but I'd still have three weeks over two years that I'd have to use. I'm sure my husband wouldn't want to rent a unit.
