Hi guys. We're going to disney in 80 days! Wooo hoooo!!

So far this is what we have...

Arrival July 3rd at 10:40am at Sanford...

July 4th.. Ice cream social @ Epcot . Spend day at Epcot see fireworks

July 5th CRT for breakfast---Day at MK and Chef Mickeys for dinner

July 6th Dinner at Ohanas

July 7th... Rain Forest Cafe for lunch and day at Animal Kingdom.

July 8th luau dinner at Ohanas

July 9th Sea World day --Dine with Shamu

july 10th--- we leave.

So what can I schedule on the other days or should I use them as resort days? What about Universal Studios? We've never been there. is it worth the admission or is it too "old" for 9 & 10 year olds. Do we need 1 day or 2 days?

I think Universal/IOA is a great park and does deserve to be seen. We do it once every couple of trips. However, it can always be saved for next time. It is a whole different atmosphere there though.

Remember you will need to arrive early on the 4th. The parks will be busy and have the potential to close down. I'm sure MK will go first, but you never know.

I think downtime is important. It keeps the vacation from feeling over-run. On one of your down days you can go to DD, or rent watercraft, check out another resort for lunch. Things like that. The pools at the hotels are so great, that your kids would probably like an afternoon to swim at your hotel.

I think what you have listed sounds great.
We only do a PS for every other day for two considerations:

1. We have young children, and they have varying appetites and they may end up needing to eat something before the time of the ressie and don't want to waste money on the ressie.

2. Most restaurants are quite expensive, so we try to cut down on the per/person cost a bit by having smaller meals through out the parks rather than PS at restaurants.

kilee makes a good point about the park closing the gates. We've never been for the 4th of July, but have been during Christmas and new years and the parks fill up fast!

Have a great time!

Thanks so much for the responses. We were down to FLorida last August, just the two adults..we actually ate at mini marts... hot dogs and slurpies.LOL just to save money and have occasional good meals at night. It was a great way to save money!

Is there a reason you have not scheduled a day at MGM? Perhaps you could do this for one of your "off" days.

nope, no reason. I just haven't been sure where to plan and what exactly the 9 & 10 year old would like to do

We are going in May for 8 days. We decided to do at least a couple of days at Universal. You can get 5 days for less than the price of 2 right now ($90).

is that $90 a person? Regardless if it's an adult or a child? That's not too bad at all!

When buying universal tickets--- Are there better tickets to buy? like, for Disney we can get Hopper Plus.. can we do the same with Universal?

Things for a 9 & 10 year old to do:

TOT
RnR Coaster
Indiana Jones Stunt Show
Star Tours
Millionaire
Muppet 3D
Little Mermaid (possibly for girls that age)
Beauty and the Beast (again, for girls that age)
Great Movie Ride
FANTASMIC!!!! (a must see)

There are lots of things for kids at MGM--give it a try. This way you still have one off day to relax.

Have fun.

In my opinion, Universal and Islands of Adventure would be great for your kids as well. My kids LOVE those parks as much as the Disney parks. There's a LOT Of things for kids to do and we really like the atmosphere there. If you have time, it is definitely worth the money!
Down time at your resort is also a good thing. We didn't do that our first time there (and I was six months pregnant) and by the end of the trip I was so tired and so grouchy I would've divorced my park-happy husband if he'd only gone to the court house to file the papers for me :) We are planning on having one day to sleep late, swim and go to some flea-markets (they're AWESOME there :)) We're also planning on doing DisneyQuest on our off-day. Anyhow, hope this helps!

Depending on the level of love you have for WDW, doing Sea World right before you leave may be anti-climatic. I would leave the last full day open for a return to parks/attractions that you and your kids enjoyed.

Are you staying on-site? that may also make a difference on how to spend your time......

IOA/Universal very good.........worth the trip
