If you have a group of 8 going does it matter who uses the tickets when you go through the gates? Do you have to use a fingerprint with each ticket or can you just pass the tickets out randomly and let the 8 enter with a ticket?

Another question:
If you have extra days on your ticket that you are not going to use can someone else use your ticket for the remaining days?

For the first time anyone can use them. However after that the fingerprint is imbedded and only the first person can use it. The pattern is scanned and recorded on the first use.

Everyone has to do the finger scan (it's NOT a fingerprint!) when they enter the turnstiles. It is possible that tickets which were purchased together can get mixed up among a family and the wrong person may try to enter with the ticket that was finger-scanned by another family member first.

Apparently the Disney computers are smart enough to look at the tickets purchased immediately before and after to determine if the user's real ticket was bought at the same time by trying to match the finger scan data to those tickets immediately preceding and following the one which is being used to attempt entry. A number of posters have confirmed that they have unknowingly used a spouse's ticket without there being a problem.

No. Tickets are non-transferable. Disney does not let people share tickets.

To make things easier we always put our initials on our paper tickets to know whose is whose.
