Has anyone bough them fom ebay? they are the best prices i've seen but how do you know they are autintic? I know there is feedback, but still. My husband thinks we should by off there... but what if they aren't good tickets is there a way to check before we go downt to FL?
Your husband is wrong! Trust your gut on this one.
As many other people have said, there's no way to check to see that the tickets are good until you're at the turnstiles. For example, I have several completely-used Disney tickets in my scrapbook. If I were dishonest, I could put them on ebay, spouting a very real-sounding story. Perhaps something like this: We bought 5-day hopper passes, but our child became ill mid-way through the trip, and we only used 3 days' worth. Our loss is your gain . . . You could check my feedback, and you'd see that it's 100% positive; however, the truth is that I've never
sold a single item on ebay -- I've
bought lots of stuff, and that's where my feedback came from.
Plus, I think all ebay tickets are a bit suspect for one big reason: Disney tickets never expire. I have hopper passes (locked in my safe) with one day remaining. These were originally 10-day hoppers and I purchased them in 2001; we've wheedled away at them, using 2 days here and 3 days there. It's a common way to stretch a dollar. Why would I sell you my one remaining day, which was purchased at 2001 prices? If I did, I'd have to turn around and buy myself new tickets at the higher 2005 prices. It's something to ask the seller.
If your tickets turn out to be invalid, Disney will not help you because their rules state that tickets cannot be re-sold. You'd be embarassed, you'd waste your time, and you'd have to buy a good ticket from Disney. And I wouldn't count on getting any money back from the seller.
Lots of people will only buy from Disney itself, and that is the 100% safe method. I think it's perfectly safe to buy from their approved vendors like AAA and ticketmania.com. But to buy from a stranger whose real name and address I might never know? I am very financially conservative, and I know a million ways to save, but this particular idea is too risky for me.
