Disney Ticket Expiry

Just a quick question. I was planning to get x4 ultimate hopper tickets for unlimited entry to WDW (2 adults and 2 children) as we are staying onsite , so we'd like to come and go as we please.

I just thought that I'd try and spread the cost by buying one at a time a few months' apart. Just worried in case they have an expiry date on them to be used before a certain date or if they are just activated once you go into WDW for the first time.

The 14 and 21 day unlimited entry tickets expire 14 or 21 days after first use, when you have to have your fingers scanned and then spend ages the next visit because your fingers aren't scanning.
