Does anyone know of any rental homes that are tastefully done in a Disney motiff or theme? I don't mean a few stuffed Mickeys thrown around, I mean like those Disney themed rooms pictured on the sample cards in Home Depot near the Mickey paint. Ok, that's pushing it, I know, but tastefully? I found one it is 450.00/ night. That's a little more than I wanted but, if I have to, I have to. :rolleyes2

A fellow owner at Glenbrook has a Mickey themed twin bedroom-Mickey television, covers, colours etc.
I'll gladly PM you his e-mail?

Lynn

Do you have the link to the house? I'd like to see it before someone calls me.

I had one written down called "briar patch villa". I think it was briarpatchvilla.com. There definitely are some, I've seen them pop up here and there. Good luck!

OK, we're going in the right direction. It's just that I saw one that had a Mickey head pool and amazing kids rooms(Nemo and Princesses). I just don't want 450.00/nt. though. I have noticed almost all the homes have their own pool--way better than a Disney hotel room and community pool.

ok... I found it. I like the spa. I just don't understand why they can't make
amazing bedrooms for the kids. It looks like a lot of these places people are afraid to paint the walls. Has anyone seen the Home Depot sample cards for Disney paint? That's what I'm looking for.

I have not seen them.....will have to check that out. But I thought the "King Triton" home under the premierdisneyhome site was pretty nice as far as the way they decorated the kids' bedrooms and bathrooms.......
I bet if more owners decorated with strong themeing they'd get alot of business.

The reason why most owners wont give a highly themed decor is the fact that it wont appeal to everybody. It is also incredibly hard to buy alot of Mickey items, can you believe!

Hope you find somewhere your kids are happy,

Lynn

I agree it's probably tough to do the disney themeing.....but I think it would appeal to alot of people ? I know that's a big reason people stay onsite---for the disney themeing. I would think if they could save money and still retain the atmosphere, it would be a big seller. But I do see your point that it wouldn't appeal to everybody......I just wonder what percentage that would actually be ?

We decided when we designed our home it would not be disney to follow everyone else. The rooms are themed but not with anything disney. I know my son would not want to get stuck sleeping on a pink princess room. Ours have a great theme but not girl/boy. I wanted it to be able to go either way. It works for us and all that have stayed. We have magic just not the pixie dust kind. Ours is more an ocean mist type. LOL I can ask on the forum of EI if you want some disney themed rooms if you are interested in EI?

I guess if it's a small # of bedrooms, it wouldn't be to your advantage, but I think more people would go after a house that has one of each. At least that way you could stick 2-3 in each room.
I know I immediately dismiss the house if it is plain and doesn't posess any unique features.

Theming is a personal thing and as Lynn says it isn't actually that easy to
get a lot of Disney themed goods .If everybody had Disney themes then all the homes would look the same and if it were me i would forget which ones I had looked at ;lol
I have gone for theming but in a subtle way in the adult rooms Chinese Indian Butterfly that type of thing and an American theme for the boys . My Disney theme comes in the Bathroom .
I think also it may be different for guests from the UK and USA as it seems to be the US ones I get that suggest a disney room when asked but the Brits hardly do .
I remember when I first got to know my neighbour in Florida who was an American who rented her home out and every room was heavily themed although not Disney but others she saw my home and made the comment " It looks like an hotel " I thanked her and took it as a compliment but she said "Oh I was meaning it looked bare !"
Can't win them all

Too funny!

As renters, we have a "take it or leave it" feeling when it comes to the Mouse Decor...

We *really* like it when owners personalize their homes..family vacation pictures, a guest book for us all to sign, etc...it just makes it feel more like home:)

(Although our boys were thrilled to find Buzz and Mickey pool towels at our last villa!!)

:sunny:

Of course I know the Home Depot paint chips, we have a princess room, a minnie mouse room, a buzz playroom and a mickey bathroom! Unfortunately we live in NY so I can't help you but I just thought I was the only one that took those booklets literally.

The worst thing about re-visiting the same villa last August (after 4 years) was that they'd redecorated the 4 non-master bedrooms - one of the bedrooms was great, really modern looking, great fabrics etc., my sister nabbed this one. My other sister (15) ended up sleeping in a racing car themed room and mine (20) was princess themed...If I had been 15 years younger this would have been great, but somehow pink with crowns and wands everywhere just didn't appeal ;) The other bedroom was themed with teddy bears (presumably for very small children).

We rent a villa because there are too many of us to live comfortably in hotel rooms for a week. I suspect many people are in our situation. Previously this house had 4 of the 5 bedrooms furnished "adult style" with a "Mickey" bedroom as the 5th. It was much better that way.
