Just today, we started on our Disney Themed Home Office. :upsidedow We started on our "photo wall." All of our favorite photos from our trips will be framed in simple black frames. 8 up on the wall so far, a zillion more to go. :rotfl: Our next project is our desk and I am looking for ideas!...
Actually, I guess it is more of a "workstation." We designed & built the workstation the entire length of one wall. We have fabric under a glass top and now want to change the fabric to a Disney theme, of course. We have not been able to find any fabric we like for an "adult office." Any suggestions?? Fabric? Stamped paper? **We are also going to put certain items under the glass, too, like the menus we have from our favorite Disney restaurants. :upsidedow

Can't help you with the desk but I just saw an amazing door at Home Depot. Vintage Mickey design.

I want to decorate my next home office in the same color scheme as the Mickey Penthouse.

Disney shopping on-line has a lot of great office pieces that are very adult. I know they have some really nice stuff that is all black. I would suggest going to a scrapbooking store for Disney themed stuff for your under glass piece. There is a book of Disney themed wall papers you could check out too and look through. We just did this for our DS for his room and they had some cool vintage Mickey papers that were not childish. Home Depot has a large Mickey head stamp you could do on the walls if you wanted to stay away from the paper and you could use any color you want (they even have Disney themed paint colors). Go on ebay to see if you can find cool stuff that's not to childish but could be used for things in your office, like a cool mug for pens. Lastly if you want more adult themed fabrics why not order a few flat sheets from Disney on-line and make curtains, chair pads or whatever out of them. Good luck. It sounds like a great idea. I say just have fun with it if a few things are more childish then the traditional office stuff I think it's OK, because the whole point of Disney is it keeps you young at heart!

Vintage Mickey?! I am going to check out Home Depot's website right now! Thanks!

Wonderful ideas, DizMom! Maybe we could use a good quality wallpaper under the glasstop?! As for fabric, I searched Disney online for fabric and found nothing. Did find Cotton sheets we really liked that could work under the glass or be made into curtains, etc- only to find out that design is "not available." :sad1: Thanks again for the wonderful ideas!

I just went onto Disney shopping on-line and found 4 sets of sheets on sale. 2 were flannel so they may not work, one was the studio collection. There was also a duvet you could cut apart, but the picture was rather large to do a lot with. They were all in the outlet section. Then there was one set in the regular shopping section that also had curtains. They say they are all in stock. Maybe one of those will work for you.

:wave2: DizMom! Taking your advice, I was just on EBay-why didn't I think of that myself? :headache: heehee I actually found the drapes I mentioned in my above post! Thanks for the great ideas-and all the help! Now I just have to talk myself out of calling in sick to work tomorrow to spend my day on EBay and Disney Shopping! :lmao:

What about finding sticker from a scrapbook store or online (the larger ones) or room decorations like border. You could cut things out or stick them on and put a clear coat of glaze over it. I think a deak/work station would look cool like that.
Post pictures when you are done.

More great ideas! Thank you!! :cool1:

Have you ordered the customized maps from Disney yet? We just got ours and they're really nice. have kind of an old world look to them as well as your last name. You could put those under the glass on your desk or you could frame them and put them on the wall like we're planning to do.

I ordered the maps and placed them in plain black frames, matted for the wall.
I also found a large 10" or so Key (looks like cement like but is actually metal/@TJMAXX?) that I hung on the wall along with a framed Disney Stock (the disney stock is great) and with some family vacation photo's the wall really looks good.
(the stock actually has a small placard that reads: Your first stock to the happiest place on Earth Now you can call our vacations Business trips) It was a gift for my son that I "BORROWED" for my office. (oneshare.com)
I also have a beautiful hand crafted oak shelf that has some Disney Books, photo's in smaller frames, a wood BELIEVE sign and a "fairy" that is so perfect.
I purchased a large dried flower wreath that is mostly "green" rather than flowery and I placed a delicate fairy on the inside nestled amongst the moss. I also hand painted some fairies fluttering around the wreath on my wall. I purchased a book at a craft store for some inspiration and just traced the outline and filled it in myself with acrylic paint.
I then purchased some additional furniture (couch/lamps/table) to round out the office.
I have found that working in an envoronment I really enjoy makes my time spent in the office much more pleasant.
Have a wonderful time decorating and Enjoy your MAGICAL office!
