Disney themed Children's Names?

No, but I did go to school with a girl named "Godzilla". Honest. I have shown people my yearbooks to prove it! In high school, she shortened it up to just "Zilla".

My kids go to school with a trio of kids from one family; their names are Kennedy, Reagan, and Carter. I guess if they have a 4th they can call it "Clinton", but I think they should stop after that -- who wants to name their kid like it's a shrub. Not sure why others got skipped, like Ford or Nixon or Johnson, or how Reagan got lumped in with the democrats -- I guess they aren't too partisan... :confused3

And lastly -- I work with a woman who grew up with 2 kids named Orangello and Lemongello (pronounce that as "oh-RAHN'-jeh-lo" and "le-MON'-jeh-lo"... and yes, that's orange and lemon jello.) Tasty, perhaps, but as a kid's name? Poor things. :sad2:

So looking at those options, a Disney name suddenly doesn't seem so bad, does it?!? :earboy2:

My Granddaughter is a "souvenir" of a WDW trip right after 9-11. DSIL just loves Jasmine from Aladdin... So Little Olivia (after Olivia Newton-John) DH's favorite... has Jasmine as her middle name. :flower: She will have her 1st visit to WDW in May. Looking forward to pictures of her with the characters :goodvibes

Olivia Jasmine is a very pretty name! I know DH wouldn't let me name a son after my favorite singer. DH puts up with him enough as it is. ;)

My sister (30) is named "Wendy" after Wendy in Peter Pan (my mom was always a Disney nut). I do have a friend at work who named her son Christopher Robin. And that's how she always refers to him, even though he's now a grown man!!

I do like the suggestion of Captain Jack, although for us it would be more about the margaritas at Downtown Disney than from the movie!! :rolleyes1

We went to WDW when I was 8 months pregnant with DD. One night on the way to dinner, we were discussing baby names (knowing it was a girl). DS (4 at the time), decided Jasmine was the only acceptable name.

We didn't agree.

However, we named her Amelia, and now Disney has had at least 2 if not 3 characters with that name. (Princess Mia in Princess Diaries is actually Amelia, and there was Captain Amelia in Treasure Planet [I think]). So, Disney actually copied us!

That's exactly what I can see happening with me and I doubt he would appreciate it but parents aren't supposed to make their kid's lives completely easy are they? ;)

Our children are not named for characters but their nicknames are. We have Skinny Minnie and Sticky Mickey (both born early and with no fat) and youngest DS is Jumbo Dumbo (born a pound and a half larger than other DS).

Our golden retriever is named Ariel. Has red hair and loves to swim. Go figure!

Along the lines of names of presidents, my DS has a girl in his class named Madison. Has a brother Ford and two sisters named Reagan and Mc Kinley. Mom said they thought of naming the last one Kennedy, but didn't like all the controversy that went with him.

I work in newborn screening. You would not believe the names these parents give these poor babies. A Disney themed name would be kind-compared to some given.

Ok, you've got me curious. Can you share some of the best/worst examples?

Oops, probably said too much. HIPAA and all.

We are expecting a baby girl is July and her name will be Ella Olivia. So I guess you can say she is named after Cinderelle.

My 4 year old's name is Sarah Elizabeth. That's her in my Signature.

TTFN,

We got a cocker spaniel for DD's 7th birthday. She named her Lady.

Lady's mom is named Belle.

We were going to name our cat (kitten at the time) Belle, but the vet said that it was a very popular name. So we named her Loretta. :sad2:

I forgot, Lady's AKC registered name is officially Lady Angel. Angel is from the Scamp movie.
