Does anyone know what the situation is with characters in Disney Studios, particularly with the removal of Stars and Cars and renovation of the old stage/flooring where it used to take place.

We will be going back during the half term for Halloween and I know my daughters are really going to miss one of their favourite parts of the trips, which was Stars and Cars.

According to the latest programme it seems that it's only the Toon Studio Plaza (Buzz and I assume Mickey or Pluto as usual) and Spiderman locations, which in my opinion is really poor. Stars and Cars, whilst it wasn't perfect, provided a great opportunity to meet a whole range of characters from all sort of films over the years.

We didn't see any characters wandering the parks, other than the ones you mention. But we did see 3 or 4 characters right inside the main entrance at about 13:30 on Thursday (Winnie the Pooh characters). The lines to see them were really short, so I was a bit disappointed that my 4-year-old wasn't brave enough to say hello.

The new Stars and Cars was a hot mess - good riddance. Donald in his Hollywood outfit has been out in front of Cinemagique. The Incredibles are riding around on their Segways as part of a new show.

I did see villains meeting in the evening in town square at DL Parc - that is new this year.

Granted, the stars and cars had its flaws and required getting there earliesh (only about 20 mins really) and the sharpening of your elbows for the rude people who think they can just turn up and demand a space as it starts.

However, in all the years I've been I can't remember a time in either park where you get to see and 'meet' a fairly big collection and range of characters, particularly with a mixture of modern and classics, princesses, villains and more. The photos werent great by autographs and general interaction was good.

My 4 year old daughter even today had her disney play map out, made a circle of Happy land people and drove her Disney characters into the centre to meet everyone. She was engrossed. I took a photo. I'll try to upload it at some point. We told her today that it won't be running when we return at Halloween and she cried.

It just sounds like they haven't really replaced it, even temporarily. At least get some of the characters out and about. I'll be really disappointed if they don't.

It's a shame they don't have some kind of parade in the Studios any more. I actually liked the parade that was around before then, I think called the Cinema parade - there wasn't a meet afterwards but you did feel really close to the characters because of the parade route.

I'm not a fan of the meets after stars and cars as it was always a scrum, but I'd like to see more characters around in general. We saw Buzz and Mickey at their normal points, Spider-man was at his meet space too. I think we saw Pluto at the front of the studios one day too, just en-route to somewhere else. Last year we were there a year later during Halloween and there were lots of random meets, Mulan, Mary Poppins & Bert, various princesses too. Hopefully they'll bring more out in the coming weeks.
