Disney Strollers

The rental strollers have seat belts similar to those in restaurant high chair. My one year old has not been able to get or fall out. But, my 4 year old can get in and out with minimal assistance.

Even the lower, flat bottomed ones that look like sleds on wheels? I'm thinking the kind they have/had at Mk a few years ago. Or have they changed them all to a different type?

ETA: They have changed the strollers! And I saw on AllEArs that all of them have safety straps, but I wonder if that's enough to keep a little one in?

Yes, the strollers are low to the ground with a slight raised area for them to sit one with room for them to stretch their legs out. They do have seat belts in them.

We just got back from wdw and I am so glad I brought my double stroller for my 3 and 5 yr olds, because:

(1) you a have stroller at the airport which allows you to move ahead in most security lines,
(2) didn't have to wait in line to rent a stroller,
(3) we stayed at the poly so we just wheeled them onto the monorail and back to hotel when they fell asleep,
(4) your own stroller is waaaaay more comfy and cleaner than the rentals -- they are made of hard plastic -- and not that I am a germaphobe, but yuk -- public strollers...imagine all the ice cream and other stuff that's stuck on them, and
(5) Disney is obscenely expensive, why not save $18 bucks a day.

IMHO, I just liked having my own stroller...Although, if I didn't have a double and was only going for 1 or 2 days, I would rent. Hope this helps.

The rental strollers would not be comfortable for a 1 yr old. What about bringing two reclining umbrella strollers? My oldest two kids are 2 yrs apart and this is what we always did when they were little.

We went last summer and we were so glad that we brought our own double stroller. Way more comfy for our boys (then 2 and 3, now 2.5 and 4), didn't have to worry about waiting in line for one, and we had a place to stash our diaper bags and other stuff underneath it. We stayed at POP and had no problems folding it up and getting it on/off the buses. We're going back again a week from now and we'll be toting it along again.

For a cheap alternative, instead of buying a new double stroller, look on your local craigslist. You should be able to find a nicely used one there fairly cheap!

JB2K- we have the jeep jogger and I love it. It is the best stroller. I have a used it for three years taking it to Mexico and Disney and it has held up beautifully.

Can you get a discount for renting for the whole week? Or...is it just a daily thing? I wish there was a way to rent a stroller at the parks and then rent one at the resorts too for one price (it's a long walk at the resorts too for me!). We're planning to bring our 3 nephews and they don't have a stroller at home any more. I hate to buy one for the trip. My husband will be using an ECV for multiple mobility issues. I have leg braces due to a neurological disorder so I will probably need the stroller to "corral" the 3 & 4 year olds. (At least the 4 year old---he's ADD and VERY active and impulsive!!) The 7-year-old will be "hoofing" it!! Thanks for any help!
