We were doing a little traveling a few weekends ago to a few different towns, and hit the mall in almost each one.

I went into three seperate Disney Stores and thought.... WHAT HAPPENED? :furious: Where's all the "grown-up" stuff????? They used to have TONS of stuff and now it's all for the kiddos. Except for the two shelves in the back w/ mugs and cups and the snowglobes. :guilty:

I used to have the hardest time not leaving there without a few bags in my hands...at least! But this time I had a $30 gift card to the mall and had a HARD time finding stuff!! :sad1:

The Disney Store used to be a fixer upper between my trips to World of Disney in DTD.... but nooo, not anymore!
Don't they know that there are still ADULT disney lovers out there, too??!!

Oh when will they bring back the Disney Store the way it used to be!!!!??????

It is owned my children's place now so they may not ever bring it back to the way it used to be.

They were bought out by The Child’s Place and so Disney doesn’t own them anymore. I am with you about the adult stuff needs to come back. I have kids, but would like to be able to buy both adult and kid stuff at the same time.

Maybe if we all started to write letters they would listen and make changes.

The era of "boutique logowear" is history. Folks, in general, just aren't willing to pay a sufficient-enough premium to justify the kind of Disney Store and Warner Brothers Studio Store that florished in the 1990s. Disney stuck it out far longer than Warner Brothers, and probably far longer than they should have, I suppose hoping that customers would return, but they never did. Instead, the studio stores ended up being forced to sell practically everything at rapacious discounts. I wonder how much money Disney lost on the venture before they finally unloaded it onto Children's Place. To its credit, Children's Place seems to be making good use of the license, crafting an offering that is more likely to justify its existence through profitable sales.

Our local Disney Store is pretty good. They do have adult t-shirts, flip-flops, the mugs & stuff, and sometimes a few other things. It rotates. I do wish they'd have adult socks though! I can't really wear Disney clothes to work, but socks ... well ... who's gonna look at my feet? It gives me a little Disney feel any day I wear the ones I have! :yay:

Our local Disney store has become such a mess that I will no longer go in it. The last time we were there we couldn't find a single employee to ask a question, remember when they used to greet you at the entrance? There was stuff all over the floors, the displays hadn't been organized or cleaned up, it was like what the Kmart display looks like after the Blue Light is turned off. :sad2:

If I was Disney, I wouldn't want my name on this store. It is like after spending a week or 2 at WDW and then going to another theme park or just back to the real world, how you notice the extreme difference in cleanliness, customer service etc....

where have you been? Our disney store has been mostly a toy store for at least 5 years now. The children's place really had nothing to do with it.

I was about to say the same thing. The Disney Stores by us ditched most of their adult stuff long before the Children's Place took over.

I agree with bicker that the day of such specialty stores is long past. Lots of smaller, pricier stores have disappeared as we evolve more and more into a Wal-Mart world. :(:

The Disney Store totally stinks now. The only reason for me to go in there now is if I want to buy a coffee mug. Totally stinks.
