Disney Store Yorkdale

I was given a little sneak peak tour preview of the store this morning.....its looking fantastic!!!!

Hmmmm I think the DD's and I may be heading to Yorkdale on that Wednesday!!

Still waiting to find out when the new store in the Scarborough Town Centre is scheduled to open.

Last I heard, sometime in October.

I work with Yorkdale and as
of now, I shouldn't be saying anything but how can I not here , we are planning our soft opening of the Disney Store to be July 23rd. Granted it could change, but thats the date we have with them right now.

I was pushing and pushing for us to get the DS back and am so excited to see its finally come to be!!! Though, this won't be very good for my Vinylmation addiction.....I'll be going there almost every day

I already peek through the crack in the door often to see the progress

I had heard about this soft opening from a CM at Vaughan Mills, so no worry about spilling the beans!!!

My DH suffers from the same vinylmation addiction. I don't know how I am going to keep him away. He is dying to get some more Villains 3! And waiting oh so patiently for Star Wars 2.

Thanks it does say on the Yorkdale website that they will be at center court for the M&G. Not a big deal for me since I can meet them at WDW next month for the hundredth time LOL.

Maybe I'll see you at the store. We, too, will go to the soft opening. We did the grand opening at Square One and it was INSANE! Never again. It was worse than WDW at xmas! Eeek!

We are still trying to work out the exact date for the soft opening. I'm hoping it will still be the 23rd, as their work seems to be going as scheduled.

I'm going to try and have an answer by Friday and I will report back!!!

Looks like Monday is the day!!!....unless for some reason it changes. But it shouldn't.

I took a look at the store today and its pretty much fully complete, with cast member training underway. The tress were on too. Pretty much merchandise just needs to be added to the floor.

Monday is my day off.....but that won't stop me from being there bright and early

I will be sure to bring my vinylmation traders, hopefully they have a box for trading.

Well 3 months from now I'll be at the Beach Club for 3 nights and on my birthday having breakfast at the castle with the Princesses and then off to the Caribbean for our wonderful 7 night Fantasy cruise!!!!! LOL

I am going to visit Yorkdale on Tuesday cause I am going to go to the IMAX downtown for Batman. So excited to see this store!!! It sounds amazing

I just took the full tour....WOW, amazing.
It makes me so happy and excited lol

It has a Time Square feel to me, for some reason. Their signage out front is similar to the NY location and apparently they are the first in-mall location to have this signage I was just told. I recognized a lot of familiar faces from the Eaton Centre location.

Aaaanyway, the SOFT Opening has changed. The date WILL be this Wednesday the 25th, NOT Monday the 23rd. There will not be free gifts being given out for the Soft Opening unfortunately, as per DS management, just the Grand Opening on the 28th. So no reason to be there early on Wednesday if you do not wish to do so.

Sorry to everyone for the incorrect date at first. I'm going to make sure I am there for opening on the 25th because I'm too excited. Hope to see you all there on Wednesday

Hi, we are thinking of visiting family in Canada next year and I just wonder if there is anywhere on the web i could look what Disney sell at your country... is it exactly the same as the us one? what about the prices...

It's pretty much the same stuff they have in the US stores, but who knows maybe they will have some special Canadian only stuff too. The old one used to price things on par with the US stores for some merchandise, it was good when our dollar was worth less then the US one.

As for the soft opening being pushed back, I am glad we stopped into Square One today to utilize the 25% off coupon!!!! I am even more glad we did, because my DH picked up some Villians 3 vinylmations and got the chaser!!!!!!!!!!

For the grand openings, does anyone know how early they start handing out the Mickey ears? Do they hand them out as soon as poeple line-up or do they wait until you are in the store?

I went to the Newmarket one recently and it was all the US stock. All price tags listed both the US price and Canadian prices and unfortunately, nothing is at par. Things priced at $12.50 American would be $14.50 cdn. I guess that's about a 15 percent mark-up on all stock.
