I went in today to get a post holiday Disney fix and found that tomorrow is their last day of trading. :sad2:

The staff said they were hoping to get another store outside the Bentall's Centre but nothing is certain.

(The staff have been found positions in other stores - but none are that convenient if they live in Kingston.)

sorry for reposting but this is the reply I got from head office

Thank you so much for your email and your appreciation towards the Kingston Disney Store. We will be reopening the Store in Kingston within the Bentall Centre sometime next week. Please feel free to be in touch towards next week and I can try and confirm opening times.

Many Thanks

Luis

My daughter was In Kingston yesterday and said the Disney Store has closed again. Apparently it was open on Saturday but now has closed signs in the window with a message that it is moving to Guildford!
Has anyone else seen it?

Yup saw this this last week (thursday) when we went to Kingston, not sure how long it has been gone but the store was back to plain walls inside.

Sad to see it go but I was half expecting it ever since I went into it's new location at christmas. The store was much smaller than its old spot and I didn't think being two doors down from the build-a-bear workshop was a great choice.

Oh dear. There is already a store in Guildford (or there was) so I suppose it is just a straightforward closure.

When it first opened in Kingston it was a lovely store with adult clothes and kitchenware along with a huge display of soft toys and a large cinema screen showing Disney clips. the selection of products got less and less until, by the time they moved to the new store, it was just a toy and fancy dress shop.

It is a shame, I'll miss it but then again I haven't bought things there for a very long time.

Can only echo that statement, I remember as a kid spending hours in that store and the Warner Bros shop there, and although and understand the target market is children, if they kept even the smallest of goods aimed at the older market I would have spent so much more money there instead of just being a shop I just browse in 99% of the time.

What a shame ~ we bought some pins there when we went to the DIS meal at Tony Roma's and the CMs were lovely, although I've got to agree that what Disney Stores stock these days is very disappointing. :sad2: I wanted to buy myself a new purse but all they seem to stock these days are kiddy ones ~ where are all the tasteful adult items with just the littlest Disney touch that they used to sell? :confused3
