Disney Store in Destin, FL?

I drove by it yesterday. There are the typical "Silver Sands Coming Soon" signs in the windows, just saying "Disney store" and no date or anything. It's next to Banana Republic. It didn't look like any work had started yet.

Seeing that it says "Disney store" I wonder if it will be like the old Character Warehouse that had park merchandise or if it will be closed-out Disney Store merchandise. Either way, I'm sure that I'll be spending some $ there, but I really loved the Character Warehouse with the park shirts, hats, pins, etc.

Thanks for the update! I can't wait to see what they have. The old Character Warehouse was great, but closed-out merchandise would be fun too!

The Disney store outlets don't always have discounted merchandise, some of it is, if you catch it on the right day. There is one in Atlanta we go to regularly and we went in one in Gulfport, MS, but a good bit of it is the same price as it is in the regular store.

I miss the Character Warehouse, even though we never found much there, it was exciting to stop in. There is still one in St. Augustine, FL.

I called Silver Sands last week and inquired with the office about the store. The lady was not real helpful. She just said that yes disney had leased a store, but she had no idea when they intended to open or start working on setting up the store. I was hoping they might be open in the next few weeks, but it sure didn't sound like it from her.

The official Grand Opening takes place on September 15th from 8AM-2:30PM. The first 500 people will
receive a free set of Mickey Mouse ears and 2 children will be selected to be part of the ribbon cutting.

Keep in mind, this is a DisneySTORE outlet, not a Character Premiere park type outlet.

It will carry some of the same product as the core and IP stores, some exclusive (new) product (they have their own lines of mugs, beach towels and tshirts for example). They WILL have more sale items, some of the overstock from the IP stores will be transferred there regularly. And on occasion, they might have some park merchandise, and overstock from the online products.

SO sorry about that! IP = Imagination Park, the new store design. The newer stores have very little room for sale and clearance product, so they transfer 90% of their sale items to the outlets, fairly soon after it goes on sale. The regular "core" stores hold onto the sale stuff longer, but eventually they transfer it over to the outlets as well.
