Disney Store gift cards for Disney Dollars?

We got a couple of gift cards to the Disney Store for Christmas but would like to use them during our trip to the World. Can we buy Disney Dollars with them? Thanks!

I went to my local Disney Store yesterday to see if I could do the same thing. I had to get all $1 in Disney Dollars. They told me that as soon as their current supply of Disney Dollars was gone, they would not be getting any more in. Good luck!

Are they doing away with Disney Dollars in all stores??? And, will the Disney Dollars still be good currency in WDW? Thanks.

Editing -- found the answer. Guess they are redesigning the disney dollars and most stores are out until they get the new ones in. Some stores are suggesting it will be March or so.
