Disney Store Employees

This question may have been asked already and I apologize,if so,but are there any advantages to being a disney employee, when at the parks?

There use to be...I worked for TDS from 1994 - late 1998 (college). We use to get 4 1 day park hopper passes a year for WDW, that is if you were a regular employee (not holiday). And our discount was good at WDW, as well as in TDS. It was also at the same rate that you would get...after so many years, you're discount rate increased. I'm not sure if any of this still holds up with all the changes...but it was great back then!!! I could use my discount anywhere on WDW property...hotel gift shops, DTD, the parks. I even got a 10% or 20 % discount in some restaurants on meals!!

I'm in the process of interviewing with TDS. The perks have changed from what I hear. There is a min number of hours per/wk/month? needed before any park tickets are given, but the shopping discounts still are good for pt employees. I'm pretty sure pt employees get purchase discounts for resort and tickets. management gets larger discount packages. maybe a current employee will post some better info. I only interviewed and didn't ask those types of questions (even though Iwas dyingto know!)

I started working at TDS last Sept. as a casual (seasonal) CM, and I still got a 20% merchandise discount and a 20% discount at many sit-down restaurants at the theme parks. There's also a 50% discount on resort rooms (when available).

However, TDS CM's are kind of on pins and needles, wondering how long we'll be owned by Disney. If we are sold to another company, such as The Children's Place, we will no longer be Disney CM's and the theme park discounts are almost sure to disappear.

Yes, we have great discounts, but they may disappear very soon...... We still are waiting to hear about childrens place. Most CMs are hoping that we are not sold, or if we are, that we manage to keep our discounts(doubtful). If the sale goes thru, and all discounts are lost, I think 50% or more of the store CMs may quit.......... new people will be hired, and life will go on.

Our store just closed on Saturday and we were one of the better stores in Michigan.. They didn't just close our store because the lease was up either.... Our store's lease wasn't over until 2006 so the reason this store was closed is still unknown to the castmembers (Or should I say Ex-Castmembers).

what store is Michigan closed? Just curious - I live in the Detroit area and frequent TDS at Somerset, Lakeside and Laurel Park..
