Disney stopped selling toy guns

The terrorists don't "win" when we ban guns (toy or otherwise) or are overly cautious. They win when they successfully kill people.
Well, when you consider that one of their goals is to disrupt our lifestyle, reduce our freedoms, and force us to change the way we do things, then you can say they win when we can't buy Davy Crockett muskets in Frontierland, or Capt Jack Sparrow pistols in Adventureland...

I think about the time an adult in a costume that was made to conceal a weapon shoots a bunch of people then runs in to the park and blends in with all the other guests is when people will agree with the no adult costume idea. I also would not like to be the law enforcement person that shoots a young person that pops around a corner with a toy gun during a high alert situation.

Won't everyone notice the adult in costume, trying unsuccessfully to blend into the crowd?

Are we all sure they are not going to allow adults in costume at the Halloween parties? After all, adults were never allowed to be in costume, except for the parties, to begin with.

As of now, that was reported by the Orlando Sentinel as confirmed by Disney. However, who knows what the rule will be in 9 months.

as opposed to the adult dressed in mickey ears, disney t shirt and shorts that blends into the crowd at disney?

or gets their hands on some CM costumes and blends in? or is a CM?

Knee jerk PC extremism. I am so glad I spent the money on buying the kids real guns and not toy ones.

I'm fine with the gun part,
But seriously how on earth does the light up bubble blaster look anything like a real gun!?
Or the space ranger blaster? I just don't get why those have been pulled from the shelves.

Anyone ever think that some psycho could use a 3d printer and make a real gun that looks like a fake plastic Disney gun? And maybe Disney heard about it, somehow, that this was planned 9or a credible threat) and actually did soemthing logical about it?

you can also make an effective gun that doesn't look like a traditional gun at all in the same way. a 3d printed plastic zip gun could likely easily make it through because it doesn't look like a weapon at all.

It's all about illusion anyway. It's not really protecting anyone.

Creating an illusion? Is this the lost Copperfield attraction?

While I am sad to see the souvenirs go I can see why they pulled them. When I was a cast member many years ago I worked in a gift shop that sold the POTC pistols. One day a man came in, walked around a while, then picked up one of the pistols and some candy. He pointed the pistol at me like he was trying to hold the place up and when I opened the register to give him his change for the candy he told me to "give him the money." I knew it was just a toy but I was still frightened just by the way he was acting. At least now this won't happen anymore.

I bought one of those pirate pistols in Downtown Disney for my son back in 2006. It was not very realistic looking and when he was running around on the Port Orleans property I don't recall anyone "freaking out". I didn't notice anyone dive for cover or call for security to subdue my 7 year old. Its funny how things can change in such a short amount of time... I guess we can all FEEL safer on our next trip.

Did you raise your hands? That would have given security some fun, too...
