But we all have to agree that Disney didn't put the metal detectors in without some good reason, and that not having replica guns to sort out from real guns will likely make the screening process somewhat quicker.
Agreed. I truly think the removal of the toy guns has more to do with the "sorting out" part than any type of political action. If there are no guns, there are no guns, and, hopefully, no way for security personnel (or guests) to confuse real and fake under this new scenario as neither will be present anymore.
For me, I say hurray!!! No longer will I have to debate my DS8 as we walk through Frontierland. "Can I have a rifle? No. How about now? No. How about on the way back? No. How about tomorrow? No. On the next trip? How about never. How does never sound?"
