Does anyone have any? I read a thread on the budget board months ago and had a link where you can do it through Disney but I'm hesitant. I'm not sure if Canadians can do it.

I may need to phone them. My DD made some money modeling last year and since she is only 4, I thought it might be a good investment for her later on.

Any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there!

I purchased my husband a share of Disney on oneshare.com last October for our anniversary. There were no problems with the purchase. The delivery is great. They said on the site 5 to 6 weeks for delivery and it was here in two. I ordered the frame and all. Very nice. My hubby even got his cheque for his share at the end of year...a big 26 cents American . :)
We are thinking of doing it for our two boys now as Christmas presents.

Thanks. Yeah, that would be great for one share but I want to invest $500 for her. They won't do that.

Do you have a financial advisor? I read online that larger amounts can be purchased through financial advisors.

I would speak to an account manager at your bank. That is what I have done in the past.

you can buy direct through Disney -- I think the minimum is $250USD?

Maybe Im boring, but the money my son makes from photoshoots and commercials goes into an RESP. Good time to put the money into it, and not quite as risky as putting it into a direct stock. Plus the gov't contributes when you contribute.

Thanks everyone.

I am going to put some of her money into her RESP as well. I realize that stock is risky but I don't think Disney is going to disappear overnight so I feel comfortable doing this. I've looked into buying directly from Disney and I think I'm going to go ahead. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
