Disney Stock purchase

Are you talking about generally buying a share of Disney stock? Or the process that gave you a paper stock certificate that you could frame when you bought it? Not sure I've seen that recently.

no not the souvenir around twenty years ago there were maybe ten companies that sold shares direct I just remember Disney and Boa were two of them! You would set up monthly transfer to buy monthly much like a broker would set up but you only bought their sjares

My son wants to buy a couple of shares.
I own a share certificate (paper certificate with frame).
I found www.DisneyStock.com but I wasn't sure if I was legit website to purchase from.
I think the company i purchased mine was Onestock.com, but I could be wrong.

Disney no longer issues the decorative paper certificates you can buy a commemorative certificate (but it’s not an actual share) if you own stock already. You can set up an eTrade custodian account for your son and they have no fee trades which is great if you are only buying a couple shares at a time. I’m sure a lot of the brokerages have this option. I buy shares for my kids with money they get as gifts so that they will have a early nest egg.

The company stopped issuing the actual, real stock certificates years ago, every thing now is book shares. You can purchase a suitable for framing certificate that has no actual stock value. To purchase stock, see any stock broker or see the official DIsney Stockholder Services website: https://disney.computershare.com/ If you have a real, actual certificate it should be somewhere safe, like a safe deposit box, rather than framed and on the wall.

The direct purchase option (as previously stated above)--is Compushare. Here is a link to the prospectus https://d2ikaws505454x.cloudfront.net/disney/landing/Disney Prospectus-F.pdf
where you find the fee schedule.

Years ago, direct purchase/dollar cost averaging/monthly purchase using the automatic investment option used to be one of the less expensive options to buy Disney stock. But, to set up an account--now costs $20.00 and even if you use the automatic investment option, it costs $1.00 plus a per share fee (which is currently $0.02 per share but is subject to change without notice). Sales fees cost between $20-$25 (plus the per share fee).

These days many of the investment firms have no commission fee for buying and selling stocks online. Also, some firms have recently started offering the purchase of fractional shares.
