Just read on WDWMAGIC That cast members are voting today to take a new contract or stike on the 21st june the day we arrive:scared1:

The thought of Mickey and Donald manning the picket lines just gave me a wee chuckle

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I reckon the villians must be behind it all an I bet Jafar is the ring leader!!! :rotfl2:

Haa haa you can calm down you lot!! It seems that the staff at Disney have finally accepted the pay deal I've just been reading about it on Orlando Sentinel so hopefully the staff will be happier in the parks from now on. I can appreciate their point and know how hard they work especially the catering staff it's a very fast paced industry ( just think how many counter service meals they must serve every day:scared1: ) :thumbsup2 Thank goodness this is sorted out before the busy period before 4th July when lots of guests arrive:woohoo: :woohoo:

Us posties are going through a similar thing at the moment we too have been asked to vote for industrial action due to an unreasonable pay offer (too many strings tagged on) so we may be out on strike soon... believe me it's a last resort measure we would rather our employer saw sense and kept our shift allowances and current start times (they wanted the delivery staff to start their shifts an hour later and make the rounds larger so the mail would not get to the customer in many cases until much later that they currently do) and just gave us the 2.5% we wanted. None of us are well off and until we sort out our pay deal management cannot sort out their pay deal either although they get bonuses well above the value of ours.

thank god for that!!!! we arrive on 21st june and our disney wedding is on 28th june! thats a load off my mind :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Are you thinking of the Disney staff or us posties?? I think an announcement is to be made later today about our industrial action had better put the news on the media ALWAYS find out before we do what's been decided.. it's very annoying to the staff who bother to send the ballots back.

Thank goodness the Disney staff have worked out their pay issues.

The vote was 77% in favour of us taking industrial action so the union now has asked for RM to go back to the negotiating table, but, they have refused to do it so far saying there is no more money in the kitty even though a certain three people gave themselves a million pounds each out of the pot!! So now they will be given seven to ten days notice of a strike which will affect the whole network, but to be fair we have not had a strike since 1996 so it's not as if it happens often.
