Disney Springs Hotels - Buses

We're considering staying at a DS hotel for the first time (most likely the Best Western).

This may be too small of a detail :) But: when you board the buses, does everyone have to show a room key? We have young children and wouldn't expect them to have a room key. It's not a big deal either way, but it's just another detail to keep track of.

Thanks!

I've stayed roughly 60 nights in the various Disney Springs Hotels. I've never been asked to show a key and I doubt anyone ever has.

How do the bus systems work? I'm thinking about staying in one too, but I'm nervous about the bus systems to the parks.

I was curious on the Disney Springs hotel busses as well. Looking to save some $ this trip and may stay at a DS hotel. Is it a long "commute" back and forth from the parks to the hotels? I like to take a break at the hotel in the afternoon and head back to the parks in the evening. We are only planning 4 days at Disney this round, and time will also be at a premium. ;) Just trying to figure out what should take the punch this trip, my wallet or our time in the park. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm not certain as to how long the ride back to your hotel may be, but I THINK the buses may make multiple stops at different hotels at Disney Springs along the way. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong about that. I also THINK that when you catch a bus from your hotel to one of the parks, your bus may drop people off people at one park before going to the park of your choice. In other words, if you are going to Epcot, the bus might drop people off at Disney Hollywood first. If you are going to Magic Kingdom, they drop you at a depot to catch a second bus to continue on to Magic Kingdom. Can anyone confirm if I am right or wrong about this? Thanks.

When we stayed there, the buses stopped at several resorts. Generally speaking, I believe that they went to one park, however. I do remember spending an hour on a bus several times....

Hi,
We are staying at the Buena Vista Palace this summer. Do y'all know if there is a website or app that shows when the next bus will arrive? I was wondering if there was any way of knowing how long a wait would be. Also, does anyone have a map of the bus route? I want to look at it since it might make more sense to ride a taxi or uber some times.

This is not correct. Each route goes to two theme parks, but the total round-trip is scheduled for 30 minutes. I just posted about that in this thread: http://www.disboards.com/threads/any-off-site-hotels-with-good-shuttles-to-wdw.3429376/

Unlike Disney bus routes, the Disney Springs Hotels shuttle buses run on a set schedule. There is a set time when buses leave each hotel and park. In my experience, the buses are usually punctual.

These buses are run by Mears Transportation, which runs Disney's Magic Express. Many times, I've seen a Mears employee stationed at each park who is will be able to tell you exactly when the next bus is due to arrive.

(Note: The Buena Vista Palace is currently under a full-scale renovation that will run through at least October of this year. I just wanted to make sure that you know that information.)

There are two buses that service the Hotel Plaza Blvd. hotels. A bus and B Bus. Here are the routes for each bus in order of drop off & pick up coming & going to the parks.

A Bus Route:

Hilton
Holiday Inn Express
B Resort
Double Tree

B Bus Route:

Best Western
Wyndham LBV
Buena Vista Palace
