Disney Springs- First timers need help

We used to bypass downtown Disney. Pete keeps gushing about it so I figure it is time to give it a try.

Will be coming to WDW in April. DW, DS(10), DS(6) and myself. Looking for somewhere fun and good in Disney Springs for diner. Maybe a beer or two also. My kids do well in restaurants so we don't want to go to T-Rex or Rainforest.

Looking for something unique to Disney Springs. Any suggestions?

My favorite restaurants in Disney Springs are Raglan Road, Morimoto Asia, and Frontera Cocina. All three had outstanding food and good service. Raglan Road has a live band and Irish Dancing in the evenings and on the weekends, which can be fun/entertaining.

The two on my list are Frontera Cocina and Morimoto. I've read good food reviews about both. Morimoto seems to struggle with service and we may end up sampling from the walk-up window. We've enjoyed RR twice and would like to stop in there, but probably won't have the time.

I haven't been to either of these places (and I still call it downtown disney too, lol) but Homecoming Kitchen and Frontera Cocina reviews had my mouth watering and would be top on my list.

Morimoto is good but may not be great for all kids. However, we absolutely fell in love with Homecoming. They have steak on the kids menu, so I am stoked to take DS there. We went as adults only. The cocktails, desserts, and Jasper board were awesome. It has a great view of the springs too. Very Florida atmosphere.

Another vote for Homecoming... DH and I loved it.. Best fried chicken we ever had

We are WDW regulars and it takes a lot for a restaurant to become an "every trip" place for us yet Homecoming has done just that. The food is amazing and their cocktails are delicious.

We also enjoy Morimoto Asia and Frontera Cocina but are content to do those once in a while. Raglan Road is just so-so to us, and far too loud.

Raglan road is our families favorite. Good drinks a a great place for kids. (It can be loud) which is a good thing when you have a pain in the neck 3 year old like I do.

Traditional upscale American Steak & Seafood- The Boathouse/Fultons/STK
Irish pub grub- Raglan Road- also great if you are looking for some entertainment to go with a meal(Irish bands/dancers perform at night)
Mexican- Frontera Cochina
Asian- Morimoto Asia
place with kid appeal- Rainforest Café, T-rex, Splitsville
Italian- Portobellas
Old fashioned southern cooking- Chef Art Smith's Homecoming
best quick service option for your buck- Wolfgang puck express- counter service food that's table service worthy
good, CHEAP counter service eats- Earl of Sandwich
Desert- Ghiaradellis ice cream

And this just scratches the surface. TONS of stuff.

We're with you on not visiting in a while but think we're coming around to a trip on our next visit. I did read the other day that Jock Lindsey's has happy hour so that may be a fun place to start for an adult beverage or too. The one restaurant we have been too and enjoy is Raglan Road. Nothing fancy, but good food done right in a fun atmosphere.
