Disney Springs crazy!

I don’t get it.

People are upset if they see someone without a mask 20 feet away from them outside at DS.

People have no problem sitting in a restaurant 6 feet away from other unmasked persons. As if eating magically reduces the threat of contracting Covid.

Yes, the rules are you need to wear a mask. People break rules all the time. They did before the Covid times and they’ll continue to do it after.

If it’s that upsetting to see someone maskless outside, stay away from them. You can’t control other persons behavior but you can control your own.

We have a 7:30 reservation next Sunday for dinner. We are walking over from a local hotel. Am I reading that it’s possible to be denied entry if at capacity? Do you just wait in line until others leave and then you are let in?

Where did you read they’re denying entry to those walking over?

Did you try Open Table? I've heard that Big River Grille on the BoardWalk is on there and not on MDE. Not sure about other restaurants.

Did you try the Swan and Dolphin restaurants? I'm not sure if they're on MDE or not.
Swan & Dolphin restaurants are on both, but the availability allocated to Disney is only a small percentage, so it's better to book those on OpenTable.

DS is going to be a zoo until Disney does something that keeps people in the parks later.

Yep and since there's no reservation system for DS like there is the parks, that's what is going to absorb the overflow. I think the reservation system is an awful idea after Covid personally.

Wherever it said police were blocking the entrances.
I haven’t seen that, want to make sure I’m not spreading bad or outdated info if they do at some point block entry. We’ve been at capacity and it was only blocked for cars coming in, not for walking, rideshare or Disney transport.

Florida is crazy all over, not just Disney Springs.

People are flocking here from all over for Spring Break as the state is wide open with no restrictions. Many people have been vaccinated and feel better about going out.

Many people have got their stimulus checks and want to go out for a meal and shopping.

Restaurants and stores, who are more thinly staffed than usual, are getting slammed.

I think that if you want to avoid DS being crazy. Don't go on weekends or at night.

That really depend on the county you are in because they all have rules of their own. Some counties in Florida do have restrictions of their own. And Disney also has rules about masks and social distancing because they are private propery

Agreed. And, also, for those of us who are new to Florida and unable to get an Annual Pass due to Disney's decision not to sell them, Disney Springs is about the only thing locals can do without having to pay the high daily ticket rates. So that's contributing to the packing of DS too.

We were there as well. We had 10:30 brunch at homecomin then went to world of Disney. They quoted a 20 minute wait but it was more like 10. LEGO quoted 40 minutes and that was 15. We left after that without going to the ornament store or pin store because it was just too crowded and not easy to move around. We’ve got another rest day on Tuesday so we might try again.
We were at Disney springs last Tuesday. Got there about 12:30/1:00 had about a 10 minute wait for World of Disney and about a 15 or so minute wait for Lego. All other stores were busy but not too full. Basin was probably the one where we were all crammed in together. The ornament store and the pin store weren’t bad at all. I’d definitely try again on Tuesday. Also, Hillsborough(Tampa), Pinellas( st Pete/Clearwater) and pasco (north of pinellas) counties are back in school Tuesday. Not sure about any Orlando schools though.

Orlando area schools are back in session tomorrow.

We were there on Thursday evening for dinner, and it was packed. If we weren;t looking for soemthing we'd have not visited there.

We have been on three trips since the closure and haven't been at DS after 5pm at all. It is like the wild west there at night compared to the rest of DW.

We haven't been to DS at all since closure. Cancelled our dining plans there after seeing so many wild west reports on the boards and other social media.

My feelings are it's not so much the fact that they are maskless 20 feet away, but the fact that more and more seem to disregard rules and do as they please. The entitlement mentality is what's wrong, not the fact you're 20 feet away, outside, maskless. Sadly parents need to keep explaining to their children that just because those people over there are doing it, doesn't mean you can.

Not to mention there's no way they are 20 feet away from everyone there at all times! Not possible!
