Disney Songs That Fill Your Heart With Joy

You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!

Music: Sammy Fain
Lyrics: Sammy Cahn
Think of the presents you've brought
Any merry little thought
Think of Christmas, think of snow
Think of sleigh bells Here we go!
Like a reindeer in the sky

You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

Soon you'll zoom all around the room
All it takes is faith and trust
But the thing that's a positive must
Is a little bit of pixie dust
The dust is a positive must

You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

When there's a smile in your heart
There's no better time to start
It's a very simple plan
You can do what the birdies can
At least it's worth a try

You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

Hakuna Matata

[Timon:] Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase
[Pumba:] Hakuna Matata!
Ain't no passing craze

[Timon:] It means no worries
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!

When he was a young warthog
[Pumba:] When I was a young warthog
[Timon:] He found his aroma lacked a certain appeal
He could clear the savannah after ev'ry meal
[Pumba:] I'm a sensitive soul though I seem thick-skinned
And it hurt that my friends never stood downwind

And, oh, the shame
[Timon:] He was ashamed
[Pumba:] Thought-a changin' my name
[Timon:] Oh, what's in a name
[Pumba:] And I got downhearted
[Timon:] How did you feel
[Pumba:] Ev'rytime that I...
[Timon:] Hey, not in front of the Kids
[Pumba:] Oh, sorry.
[Both:] Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata!
Ain't no passing craze

[Simba:] It means no worries
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy

[All:] Hakuna Matata!

Hakuna...it means no worries
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy

Who put the glad in gladiator?
Hercules!

I always crack up when I hear that! ;)

You know what makes me cry? The Wishes song.

A Whole New World

[Aladdin:] I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

[Jasmine:] A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
[Aladdin:] Now I'm in a whole new world with you

[Jasmine:] Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world
[Aladdin:] Don't you dare close your eyes
[Jasmine:] A hundred thousand things to see
[Aladdin:] Hold your breath - it gets better
[Jasmine:] I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be

[Aladdin:] A whole new world
[Jasmine:] Every turn a surprise
[Aladdin:] With new horizons to pursue
[Jasmine:] Every moment red-letter
[Both:] I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

A whole new world
That's where we'll be
[Aladdin:] A thrilling chase
[Jasmine:] A wondrous place
[Both:] For you and me

Under The Sea
Be Our Guest
Colors of the Wind
When you Wish Upon a Star

Those are my absolute favorites! :earsgirl:

/
I love "Remember The Magic" by Brian McKnight from the Music From The Parks CD. :cloud9:

My all time favorite:

Ma chere Mademoiselle, it is with deepest pride
and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight.
And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a
chair as the dining room proudly presents -
your dinner!

Be our guest! Be our guest!
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie
And we'll provide the rest
Soup du jour
Hot hors d'oeuvres
Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff
Chip:
It's delicious
Lumiere:
Don't believe me? Ask the dishes
They can sing, they can dance
After all, Miss, this is France
And a dinner here is never second best
Go on, unfold your menu
Take a glance and then you'll
Be our guest
Oui, our guest
Be our guest!
Lumiere and Chorus:
Beef ragout
Cheese souffle
Pie and pudding "en flambe"
Lumiere:
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret!
You're alone
And you're scared
But the banquet's all prepared
No one's gloomy or complaining
While the flatware's entertaining
We tell jokes! I do tricks
With my fellow candlesticks
Chorus:
And it's all in perfect taste
That you can bet
Come on and lift your glass
You've won your own free pass
To be out guest
Lumiere:
If you're stressed
It's fine dining we suggest

Chorus:
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!
Get your worries off your chest
Let us say for your entree
We've an array; may we suggest:
Try the bread! Try the soup!
When the croutons loop de loop
It's a treat for any dinner
Don't belive me? Ask the china
Singing pork! Dancing veal!
What an entertaining meal!
How could anyone be gloomy and depressed?
We'll make you shout "encore!"
And send us out for more
So, be our guest!
Lumiere:
Be our guest!
Chorus:
Be our guest!
Mrs Potts:
It's a guest! It's a guest!
Sakes alive, well I'll be blessed!
Wine's been poured and thank the Lord
I've had the napkins freshly pressed
With dessert, she'll want tea
And my dear that's fine with me
While the cups do their soft-shoein'
I'll be bubbling, I'll be brewing
I'll get warm, piping hot
Heaven's sakes! Is that a spot?
Clean it up! We want the company impressed
Chorus:
We've got a lot to do!
Mrs Potts:
Is it one lump or two?
For you, our guest!
Chorus:
She's our guest!
Mrs Potts:
She's our guest!
Chorus:
She's our guest!
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!
Lumiere:
Life is so unnerving
For a servant who's not serving
He's not whole without a soul to wait upon
Ah, those good old days when we were useful...
Suddenly those good old days are gone
Ten years we've been rusting
Needing so much more than dusting
Needing exercise, a chance to use our skills!
Most days we just lay around the castle
Flabby, fat and lazy
You walked in and oops-a-daisy!
Chorus:
Be our guest! Be our guest!
Our command is your request
It's been years since we've had anybody here
And we're obsessed
With your meal, with your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight's still glowing
Let us help you, We'll keep going
Course by course, one by one
'Til you shout, "Enough! I'm done!"
Then we'll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you'll prop your feet up
But for now, let's eat up
Be our guest!
Be our guest!
Be our guest!
Please, be our guest!

Once Upon a Dream was our wedding recessional

I love When you wish upon a Star too

But the song that kills me, since it came out shortly after I had my first child, is You'll Be in My Heart from Tarzan...cry every time I hear it. :music:

Definitely When You Wish Upon a Star. We walked out of our wedding to this song played on the organ. :goodvibes

All of them!! "Feed the Birds" from Mary Poppins is one that just makes me so happy...all of the songs listed make me happy...I love them!

Snoopy, I love that song too. Sad thing is, nobody will EVER be able to sing it the way Jerry Orbach did. :sad1:

To many to name and a lot depends on my mood but one I get shivers with is Can you feel the love tonight followed closely by circle of life.

There's a calm surrender
To the rush of day
When the heat of the rolling world
Can be turned away

An enchanted moment
And it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior
Just to be with you

And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It's enough for wide eyed wanderer
That we got this far

And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

There's a time for ev'ryone
If they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope
Moves us all in turn

There's a rhyme and reason
To the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager
Beats in time with yours

And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far

And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest?
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

In the circle of life
It’s the wheel of fortune
It’s the leap of faith
It’s the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Some of us fall by the wayside
And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars

There’s far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

I love the music from Beauty & the Beast. I think that's why it's my favorite show to see in WDW. Our local Theatre in the Park did it this summer and we went twice. Unfortunately my oldest son (age 5) thinks the Disney movie is too scary, though he did like live version. We have a Disney Singalong video that I played so much my kids are sick of it.

Hey Everybody! Make sure to click on the :goodvibes in Dan's post! It's an instant smile-getter. :sunny:

I love this thread griningghost! Part of your world from The Little Mermaid will forever put a lump in my throat. When my daughter was 2 we were having an extremely difficult time. We feared she was autistic, very little speech, or eye contact, extreme crying, but whenever I would sing this song to her before bed she was entranced. She has had an extreme love of everything Disney ever since. Everything has turned out great, she starts regular kingergarden next month. My husband always says that we have to play this song at her wedding, I think I will need a mop for my face! princess:

I think I need a mop for my face right now - what a heartwarming story! :cloud9:
