SOLD OUT ???

Anyone know what is going on the first week of June?

I am trying to sneak away the 7th and 8th. EVERYTHING on the Monorail is sold out. Very Slim pickins.

I ALWAYS stay at the BC, I wanted to be adventurous this time. Its a sign - "There's no place like home - BC"

I don't know of anything special going on, just normal less-than-two-weeks-away summer vacation things. Lots of schools are either just out or getting out soon, so I'm sure a lot of people want get their vacations started!

It may not really be sold out. We are leaving tomorrow, YAHOO!, and I didn't know how early we'd get away. I originally had booked a room on the way down and we'd get up the next morning and drive into WDW. Well, we are leaving early in the morning and we'll make it to WDW in plenty of time. I called on Monday afternoon and tried to make a one night reservation at POR (we are using DU but I wasn't sure if I could get my agent on the Memorial Day Holiday). When I called they told me it was booked solid all week. I did e-mail my DU agent and she got me the two rooms! Way to go WENDY! So, you might want to try some other alternative booking methods. Just a thought.

The 1st of June is Gay Pride Day in Dis, and lots of people are staying for the week and festivities. There is another thread a bit back on this.

I was thinking of adding another night to BWI for the 17th of June and they had it. I think when I tried to add for the beginning of the week at the poly that was sold old. I am thinking it might be crowded that week but then again isnt that part of the excitment, hear kids crying, screaming, parents losing their temper from the heat, YUP, that's what Disney is all about and then some. LOL

Have you tried WL - it's not monorail but we love the boat to MK and it is very convenient to get to the monrail!

Gay Pride is now basically a week not a day and that has some impact. Also, the Contemporary is taking the military personnel that would otherwise stay at the Shades of Green while that resort is closed during renovation. Result is likely that many who often go for the Cont found no rooms there and booked instead at Poly or GF. Also, Disney was offering a lot of deals for that period of time a few months back and it is likely to fill as a result.

I think I might have a Studio at Key West. Never stayed there before.

My DH works for Canon (copiers, cameras, etc) and his company has a big convention at the CR from Sun 6/2 thru Wed 6/5. At least he is coming home Wed. (Yes, this is a problem in our house, espcially since our DD is now old enough to realize Daddy is at WDW ) I am not sure if the breakdown after the show will keep staff there another couple of days, since he is not involved in that end. But I am pretty sure they would all be out be the end of the week.

The good thing is that the schedule for them is tight, and they really don't go into the parks, especially since the company plans activities and to go in the parks costs the employees out of pocket. Most of them do the free stuff. DD never goes into the parks.

At least he brings us back good gifts. Now I just have to wait until December!

I was very lucky, I thought it was sold out the days I was going and I just switched my days just by one night but I got the same price, the same location and the same hotel, they were both concierge, maybe that makes a difference. I was lucky though, for doing it 13 days before I get there I pulled this one off, my nerves are shot but I did it. We are coming, goofy, now you have competition, I'm top notch in the GOOFY department.

Also the WWS Pin Event is June 1...today! lots of people there for that this weekend too.

Actually we're going the last week of June and there is limited availablity then too. We know 2 different families that are having trouble getting ressies for certain days during that timeframe too. sounds like WDW needs longer hours to accommodate everyone.
