8:30 is pushing it, and then you’re not riding until the evening. You can’t get a boarding group until after you’ve cleared security and tapped into the park. That could easily take 15 minutes. If you want to guarantee that you’re riding ROTR you should not shoot for getting there at 8:30.
And MK often closes later than Epcot so the walk from main Epcot entrance through Epcot to IG may be impossible
You could take a bus to BC and walk over to the Skyline.
Today was my first chance to ride. I found that stepping out at a deliberate angle as opposed to stepping out straight seemed to feel more secure to me. I was kind of angling in the direction of motion. Stepping between a moving and non moving surface took a little getting used to. I loved the ride though. I still don’t think I would ride in the summer, because my gondola on the last leg of my journey tonight didn’t have much airflow and was kind of stuffy, so I figure it would be bad for me in the summer. But for my winter trips, it’s great.
Are the vents open? I was guessing they might close some/all Of the vents this time of the year to keep them more comfortable.
Or the people in that gondola before them could have potentially closed them. They are guest controlled, which I found to be great!
I always have a little apprehension going from moving to ground, like on escalators and those moving tracks in airports. But...I'm excited to have an alternate mode of transport from POP.
They appeared to all be open but we were traveling with the wind which seemed to cut down on airflow. Traveling to Epcot we were traveling against the wind and there was a ton of airflow. I know wind is something that will always be luck of the draw but it does make a big difference in how the gondola feels.
