They are rated for that, doesn't mean Disney will choose to operate them under those conditions.

There is zero chance Disney would leave people on a stopped line in a storm below the rated thresholds of safety. They will likely discontinue boarding well before the safety thresholds, though.

I would be willing to bet there is a higher operating threshold for clearing the line than for normal ops too.

Disney are pros at watching the weather. We’ve been cleared from pools and slides at both water parks and resorts long before a drop of rain fell. I’m guessing it will be the same with the gondolas. If they’re planning on stopping them during certain weather conditions I can see them doing their best to stop loading new guests and unload current guests until weather allows for the line to continue.

This. That is one heck of a leap to assume that is airflow testing unless she saw a bunch of measuring equipment in a cabin.

Could easily test the temp right before the cabin is launched with windows open, and then test the temp again as soon as the doors open at the following station.

Both pools and boats are shut down if there is lightning within 6 miles. It's possible they will have a different standard for the gondolas, but we wont know until they are running.

I would imagine there will be people heading to POP/AofA who may be stranded at CBR if the gondola shuts down due to bad weather. I wonder if they’ll offer a shuttle bus to Pop/AofA in this case. I guess time will tell.

Undoubtedly, but knowing Disney Transport, it may take them half an hour to find a bus and driver they can spare.

I know they are pricey and I only do them once or twice a trip but I really do enjoy the minnie vans. I would use them more if they were a bit less expensive.

Yea hope so, otherwise its a long walk from many rooms.

agreed - and I would use them more with my entire family especially as we still need car seats so don't really want to trust Uber with that. When just myself or just my wife and myself I am find with Uber/Lyft though

i think they have their place for sure - and it seems like many people have no issue playing the premium - but it is hard to justify spending 4-5x as much on them other than a special treat

There are plenty of videos that show the launch time of the Gondolas, much faster than TSMM at about 11 seconds. Sit down, do some math, then compare it to the current bus capacity.

I wasn't addressing buses at all; I was simply speculating that there WILL sometimes be a wait for gondolas due to high demand. A continuous-load system that has a secondary loading loop for the disabled will come closer to continuous no-wait regular loading than it is possible for any other kind of system to manage, but as we see with TSMM, it. still. happens. Even with doubled capacity over what it had when it was opened, TSMM sometimes still has standby waits of close to 2 hours, so it stands to reason that capacity issues will also occasionally create a wait at the Skyliner, because the load capacity of the system is finite, while the possibility of crowd growth is not (or at least, the limit is not something that WDW will tell us.)

I personally don't have a dog in the Skyliner vs. buses hunt, as I seldom use the buses at any other park than MK. Still, when at WDW I expect to wait for things, and I think that to assume otherwise, about anything on property, is to invite frustration.

Comparing them to one of the top attractions on property vs the transportation system they are replacing makes no sense. Especially when that attraction didn't launch nearly as often.

I don't think anyone has said there'd be no waits during closing or some waits in the morning, just that it'll be much better than the buses.

Tim Tracker had a video today from Caribbean beach. The gondolas were just running in the background and I was surprised by how cool it looked. It really ads something to those resorts. Tim even commented on it how it ads an energy to the resort.

One reason I have been excited about these from the start is the kinetic energy it should give to much of the property. At the impacted resorts but also when driving around those areas too
