They should be ashamed of themselves for having guests wait 4-5 hours to meet Anna and Elsa at the MK (or Epcot previously). One day ticket prices are now over $100 per person and guests are expected to spend a good portion of their day waiting to meet some characters? Give me a break! Why in the world couldn't they have multiple Frozen meet and greets around the park? Every additional meet and greet in the park would significantly reduce the wait times. And don't give me any bull about how everyone is waiting in that 4 hour line "voluntarily"! The fact is, they shouldn't have to! :confused3

They should be ashamed they created such a popular movie that people are willing to subject themselves to hours and hours of waiting? Hmmm....

It's 2 characters out of how many characters, rides, shows, and activities there are in WDW? If someone is willing to spend a good chunk of their $100 (or less depending on their ticket's) day standing to meet 2 girls in costume that is entirely on them.

They really can't have the characters meet in more then one place in a park. It takes away the magic of the character. And the only way I see of making it shorter is to make the visit shorter, which is not a good idea. I agree that we would not wait that long, and am amazed at people even entering a line to meet characters when the wait is more then 20 minutes.

They are there voluntarily. People wait in a line for Toy Story Midway Mania in DHS that says 180 minutes (3 hours) and I don't hear any outrage about that. Disney did open up more FP+ spots. Also, if they have more than one set around the park, that can be confusing to little kids who don't know about friends.

People also sleep out for tickets to sporting events and concerts, to get into a sale on wedding dresses, and to get into Wal-Mart to buy garbage that's going to break in a year. But, hey! Whatever floats their boat.

I agree with you OP. How difficult can it be to add a few more of these meet and greets? They obviously know how popular this is. Its like they are doing it on purpose to maybe allow other lines to get shorter. I've said this quite a bit over the last year or two, but Disney isn't like it used to be. It just seems like they don't care anymore.

They should put these meet and greets throughout the 4 parks all day to try to help with waits. This way it won't diminish the magic yet it can help with the long waits....and although technically, it is voluntary, how many parents are willing to tell their kids that they won't get to see the characters they had their heart set on?

Because there is only one Anna and Elsa unfortunately......what would a kid do if they say two Anna's at the same time....It's fustrating definately. They should add Anna and Elsa to Akershus Royal Banquet Hall if they haven't alreadly. Then at least you could schedule dinner with them....

All I have to say is thank goodness my baby girl is only going to be 9 months and 13 months at our next 2 trips! Hopefully by the time she cares in a couple years the wait will be down.

My daycare kiddos love this movie and have my DH goofing off with them randomly singing "Let it Go" so hopefully HE doesn't make us stand in that line, hehe.

Do you have an ideas about how to not have a line for such popular characters? There is an extreme demand for these characters right now.

And the reason there aren't multiple meet and greets is because Walt was all about putting on a show at his theme parks and it is impossible for someone to be in 2 places at the same time. He wanted to maintain the illusion that you are part of the show and the characters are real. Same as the way that the costumes worn by CMs in the Magic Kingdom change from land to land and you don't see a Fantasyland uniform while in Adventureland for example. If we lose these things, we lose what makes Disney unique and it becomes just another theme park.

But... they are doing it voluntarily. If the line is objectionable to them, they don't have to wait in it. I do agree that they should be at character meals, and maybe that will be implemented in the future. It is still a relatively new meet. Also, as others have said, it would confuse children to have multiple meeting spots throughout the park for the same character.

But they don't have to!

That's the whole definition of "voluntary". It's not like there's nothing else to do in the park, after all. :lmao:

Disney has nothing to be "ashamed of". Would you rather they hastily stuffed a bunch of untrained girls into shoddy, ill-fitting dresses, slapped some wigs on them, and had them standing around everywhere, meeting the kiddies? What happens when the kiddies then say, "But I just saw a different Anna, 20 feet away! You're not the real Anna! Waaaaah!"

It takes time to find actresses with the right look and train them to be able to portray the characters to Disney standards. If you really want just some random teenager in a costume, you can hire one yourself.

Get yourself a FP, or wait a year until the hype settles down. It's your choice. (Though, to be fair, I suppose it's also your choice to wander the internet raging pointlessly... whatever floats your boat.)

I have to agree with you here. While I personally think they should have kept them in Norway and then ALSO put them in MK to avoid this 4-5 hour cluster...I think Disney likes that. Kinda like how I'm sure US loved the Harry Potter area having that crazy 6+ hour wait at one time. Supply and demand I suppose.

I would argue that you do hear a lot of grumbling about TSMM because after so many years it still gets such a long line because of Disney's refusal to add more attractions to that park. Let's face it...it doesn't get that long line because it is the best ride ever (although I do love it) but more the fact that it is the only ride for an entire family in that park.

Couldn't have said it better.

If Disney offered a package where you were guaranteed to meet Anna & Elsa, get an autograph and a picture... but it cost 150.00 per child (in addition to park admission), and the photo was only available through Photopass/Memory Maker, would people do it?

If I am a business like Disney this is the most logical option to pursue. Supply and demand and the only way to eliminate the idea of having a child see "different" Anna and Elsa's.

You can't fault Disney for the obsessiveness of the general public and wanting to maintain the entire image they want to portray. I am kind of surprised Disney hasn't tried to cash in like the idea I mentioned above. Lord knows people would probably sell that out as well every day.

I hear ya OP, but what do ya do?

With A&E being such high profile princesses right now, if you added them at another park it would be obvious that there are more than one A&E, and then the whole question starts with the kids "why are there two?, which on is real?, are they the real A&E?, etc..."

We never led our kids to believe that any of the characters at WDW were "real", so for us, multiple A&E meet and greets would be fine, but for many, it's like breaking the law! ;)

No one is MAKING anyone stand in line. Disney has NOTHING to be ashamed of.

But they do have that right now. You can walk in to CRT and meet Jasmine and then you can walk out of there and walk down to Adventure Land and meet Jasmine. Then you can get on a bus and ride to Epcot and go to Morocco and meet Jasmine. Similar situation for Snow White, in Germany at Epcot, MK and CRT. Aurora gets similar treatment at CRT and France. So they can work a way to add more A&E meets.

For now, having multiple sets inside the magic of Fairytale Hall is the best option they've given.

Maybe one day they'll add them to Askerhus, where they truly belong.

My thoughts exactly! No one is being forced to meet them. :confused3

I don't see the problem with multiple meets. I don't think Disney needs to do it, and if people are waiting it's their own issue, but yeah, don't see the problem. Tons of characters meet at multiple parks, as well as characters in the resorts and in the parades. They are regularly in more than one place at once, it's just not possible to see two at the same time.

I agree with everything (voluntary, etc) except the 2 places at once - Belle meets in France and at Akershus and skip to another park at ETWB skip to another park she is in the show at DHS....; Cinderella meets are CRT and FTH and Akershus.....

It can be done, there is no reason why A & E could not be either still in Norway or at Akershus. This would take some pressure off the line.

Add Akershus to ALL of these.
