Has anyone ever had purchases from disneyshopping.com shipped to their resort to save on shipping charges??

Absolutely. :goodvibes
Just keep in mind their "free" shipping offer is a ground service. So, place your order in advance of your stay, to ensure everything arrives on time!

I was wondering about this too- anyone have any suggestions on what a good time frame would be for ordering- and delivery- do you know how long the hotel will hold it for you? TIA, Jen

Last trip, I ordered just outside of two weeks. Disney Shopping said it takes them 7-10 days to get to WDW hotels. Sometimes longer, if there is a backorder or the order is large for picking/packing...

The WDW Resort hotels are really good with holds (although yes, they have been known to lose or misplace from time to time). Offsite hotels, I'm not entirely sure...

There is a list on the DIS of all the WDW Resort mailing addresses and how to properly address your package for shipping. I've got a toddler dancing around me, so I don't have time to search and post right now!!

I ordered around 10 days in advance and 2 days into our trip the front desk called that our package had arrived, we had free shipping to the resort and it worked out great!

Thanks for that, I was just trying to search for this information.

P.S. I see you are in Peterborough, I live in Bridgenorth!

I did this too,and it worked out fine. Great that we don't have to pay an arm and a leg like to ship to Canada ;)

great...this is so exciting...i'm always so jealous of all the great deals on the sites...but the shipping always makes the total price carzy!!

Plus everything from disney shopping is from china so if it's clothes comming to Canada tag on another 17 or 18 % for duty.

Hahaha... it was NOT that bad. I posted a couple weeks back in the UPS Cdn thread about my $300 US DisneyShopping order. I took advantage of their 40% off everything in the store and outlet sale. Big score for all the b-day and Christmas 2008 requirements. All told, I paid under $35 for DUTIES/TAXES....

Let me tell you why according to my UPS man... Disney Shopping charges crazy amounts for shipping to Canada right? Well, it's now because they are using UPS Express or Expedited to ship to Canada (1-2 day service). Because UPS utilizes the LVS process to pre-clear with Canada customs, you do not end up paying any service fees and the lowest duties/taxes (if applicable) are being applied. Apparently there is more to the process (same as USPS, something about $200 most days can get through before taxes), but it boils down to the fact it ends up being cheaper than if Disney Shopping shipped via Ground (in which you get hit with every imaginable fee).

So while I do prefer to ship to a resort in the US, I am happy to report I did not get screwed by the tax man or UPS with my big ol' order! :cool1:
