Has anyone used the service provided where when you buy stuff at the shops are Disney, they deliver to your room?

How long does it take to get there?

Will they get your goodiees to your room in time if you use this the day befor you leave?

Any suggestions???

We have been tempted to use it, in fact I was all set with some shirts I had bought at the gift shop in TOT at MGM. Then the CM told me that it could be up to two days before they arrived at the GF :earseek: . Needless to say we carried them in my backpack!

Oh yeah, they won't allow you to use the service if you are checking out the next day for obvious reasons.

We have always been told that you can't use it the day before you leave because delivery could be the next afternoon after you have checked out.

I believe now they deliver to the gift shops of your hotel. I have read that
at Pop Century you pick it up at the gift shop of the resort. Some resorts may deliver to the rooms-I'm not sure. : :earsgirl:

We had a couple of Disney Beach Towels (on sale for $9.99 a piece, how could we pass up such a deal?) sent back to the resort. They call you when they arrive and leave a message saying it's there and you can pick it up at the gift shop. This was at POR anyway. Now, we actually had that message waiting for us the same day when we got back from the resort, but the towels weren't there yet :confused3 . The next day we got a message (when the store said they would be delivered) and lo and behold the towels were at the gift shop. MUCH better than hauling two beach towels around MK then Epcot that day!

We have used this service plenty of times, your merchandise shows up at your resort gift shop the next day by about 3pm. The only day you cannot use it is the day before you check out.

We use this all of the time. They used to deliver your purchases directly to your room, that was awesome! But now they deliver it to your hotel gift shop, which is OK but still way better than carrying stuff all around the parks. I've never had any problems and all of my purchases have made it to me, safe and sound.

This is one of the many reasons we stay on property - it's an awesome service!! We use it every time we go and have never had a problem!! Makes it a pleasure to shop!!

There's also the option of having packages sent to the front of the park, if it's too close to the time you leave that might work out just fine too.

maybe I should try it out on the first day. I had a plan to do something for someone I'm going with, but, I don't want it to fall apart. He/She (incase one of them see this) doesn't know anything about it. SO I don't wanna ruin the surprise.

Thanks all !!!

Happy DIS'n

You can use the delivery service to deliver to your resort, to the front of the park or you can ship it home.

Delivery to the resort is described above.

Delivery to the front of the park is a great service so you don't have to carry it around all day. The store clerks will tell you how long it will take to get to the front of the park.

I will also ship things home. This keeps you from having to pack items, especially if you travel by plane. Also if you live in a state other than Florida, they will not charge you sales tax when you ship it home. This helps offset the cost of shipping.

we use this wdw guest service always, its so convinient.

they say it can take up to 2 days for the packages to be delivered to your guest room. although it can be sooner, we normally have our packages there the next day.

what you can do if you leave the next day is have your packages forwarded to the front guest services for pick up when you leave. rather than carrying items around. we have also done this with no problem & total ease.

I've used hoitel delivery with no problems. I also recommend shipping things home. Remember, you don't pay tax on things going out of Florida, so the cost is not that bad (used to be cheaper to ship home, before they increased their rates!). The items arrive in a week or two, depending on where you live. Always packed well (although boxes on toys might be crumpled - collectors watch out!). Fragile items are greatly overpacked. If there is a problem, they will do a return for you (something you don't get if something breaks in your suitcase!). The system at Once Upon a Toy makes this really easy - other places you might get a cramp filling out the address slips!

I think the delivery to your room is dependent on which resort. We stayed in the moderates (CS) and they would deliver to the gift shop, not to our exact room. Maybe if you're staying deluxe they still go to the room? Not sure but you may want to clarify that.

It is a wonderful service. We went to DTD our first night, and wanted to get a lot of shopping out of the way. Didn't have to carry all that stuff around!

We've stayed at BCV and VWL and the packages were delivered to the gift shops, not the rooms. I agree with everyone - this is a great service.

We used this service many times during our last trip, and it worked flawlessly. It would be nice if they still delivered the items to your room, but it still beats lugging it around the park! Every CM we dealt with asked when we were checking out, to make sure there would be time to get it to the resort.

We were in Magic Kingdom Wed. night and requested our items to be delivered to our resort POR. However, it was 8 p.m. and we missed the 6p .m. cutoff, so delivery could NOT be guaranteed until Friday. That would not work, we left yesterday at 2 p.m. Needless to say, we carried our purchases out with us.

The idea of buying your souvenirs at the end of your trip does not allow for deliveries. However, The Christmas shoppe in Downtown Disney will deliver to your home for a nominal fee. We filled out order and they will personalize, then ship.
