Ok, I have a question! How are the little girl swimsuits at disneyshopping. I'm talking like size 6, 7 range.

DD has a Tinkerbell swimsuit that her aunt bought her from Costco, I believe. It has not even lasted the summer and the lining is all stretched out and the suit is pretty much finished.

I bought her another one from Target and it has held up pretty well so far.

Went to Target today and couldn't really find an affordable suit there so I was thinking about ordering one from Disneyshopping.

DD has one from disneyshopping which I tried on her last night and it fits ok length wise, but the elastic in the butt is way too big. :confused3

DD is 5, soon to be 6 yrs old, almost 47 inches, about 52 lbs. So, she's tall for her age and has a long torso.

Any suggestions????? Do you think the 2-piece ones with the boy shorts would be better since she has the long torso???? I wonder if I should order 2 sizes of the same suit and bring 1 back to the Disney Store.

I guess I'm asking how is the quality and sizing run????

TIA!

My dd is 5 and about the same size as your girl. I bought her a disney princess bikini at the disney store size 6 and it fits her good. Long torso girlies need a two piece. My mom has a long torso and gets a two piece every time. Id try a two piece. It should fit her good.

I have had some problems with the quality of the DS suits. I bought a couple of the one pieces, but what I did not realize was how thin the fabric is. We have lots of "baggy butts" in those suits. I don't know that I will buy suits from the DS again. I did find a suit on sale at Gymboree that fits and covers.

I feel the ds suits are a little small. I have a tiny almost 5 year old and bought her a size 6.

I haven't had any problem with the suit wearing out. And we do love the pool. however, we all shower in our suits before getting in the pool, and rinse them in cool water after we get out. I was told by a water aeoribics teacher that it makes the suits last longer, and it really does work!

I think they are sized a bit off....the bottoms seem fine, but the tops are a size too small. So, even though they are cute, we have been passing. This year I did buy a rashguard shirt to go w/some LL Bean bottoms. I bought the shirt a size bigger and it fits great and is wearing well.

Thanks for your replies! Thanks for the tip in rinsing the suit out in cold water too!

I think I'm going to pass on ordering online since I'm so unsure about the size & sounds like the quality is iffy.

Maybe I'll hit the Disney store or just buy another suit from Target.

This year I got my just turned 6 year old (bout the same size as your girlie) the minnie 2 piece yellow suit in a size 6 - we like coverage as we are at the beach all the time so we dont use the top that came with the bottoms, we got a minnie rash guard that matches (got that a size bigger) and it has worked WONDERFULLY!!!! The "set" works great, she loves it and it is doing well both at the beach and the pool!! She loves it!!!!!:thumbsup2
