So I noticed that Disney Shopping is running a special, Free Shipping and No Sales Tax on purchase over $75 (except for CA, KS, and SC) and that started me wondering. Now I won't pretend to understand sales tax rules when it comes to purchasing online, but I thought you were only charged a sales tax if the online store that you are purchasing from had a physical store located in your state. And now that Disney no longer owns the Disney Stores, does that mean we'll see an end to a sales tax on purchases from Disney Shopping? Does anyone know the rules on this? Oh, and I can understand why California would be singled out as an exception to the rule, but what about Kansas and South Carolina? Thinking back on tracking some past purchases, is this because Kansas and South Carolina are home to the distribution centers? I know my last purchase was shipped from Jonesville, SC. Thanks.
