Disney shares official Dole Whip recipe amid COVID-19 outbreak

Kinda strange that Disney would publish the recipe and then it's not the right one. They could just as easily have said "Make a treat similar to Dole Whip in your own home." I'm going to make the the one with the ice cream and crushed pineapple, I think it might be better than what is sold in the park. And if I'm wrong, I'm adding rum

Yeah and I didn't realize they had other flavors before I had to work on that website for them (I didn't design it, to be clear... Bit of a visual catastrophe). I learned a lot from pulling from their product database, ha.

Just thinking about it, but I'm not sure Dole really has anything to do with the product (made by a licensee) outside of licensing the name and logo. Dole is in the fresh fruit business. They sold off their packaged food business (I used to work a job in shipping where that division was our customer) a few years ago. I do believe Dole is sponsoring various Disney attractions.

Sure. It's a licensed product, but selling the product doesn't necessarily mean they have a say in what the manufacturer does.

It's Kent / Precision Foods. I was previously a developer for a food service CRM and web development company and Kent Precision was one of our clients. So yeah, not sure what kind of say Dole has in its production.

As far as I can tell, Dole Foods sold off their packaged foods division (i.e. canned/dried fruit and beverages) and their Asian fresh fruit business to a Japanese company. So they're licensing out the name for the soft serve. I wonder what happens if Dole Foods decides to change the logo. I've seen that before with companies that were split up where they end up using the same logo even when they're different companies.

I know this is more nuts and bolts than most would care for.

My kids and I made the version described in the OP last night, and we thought it was delicious! (It’s been a few years since I had one at WDW, so I don’t remember how closely it compares, but I thought they were both yummy!)

I bought the ingredients and then found out: We don't have a blender. We've been married almost 46 years and I know we've had blenders, but there's not one here now. Meanwhile I've drinking the pineapple juice with Malibu rum. It's coconut/rum/pineapple. Who needs Dole Whip???

If you want the real thing Disney uses, you can find that product on Amazon. Trying to duplicate the listed ingredients on this package with other recipes is a waste of time and won't yield the same results.
