Disney share question? update post No. 12

I have one Disney share that DW bought for me a few years ago as a Christmas present. Every year I get a cheque for a few cents and I'm unable to cash it as I don't hold a US banking account. Does anyone know how or who to contact at Disney to get them to donate it to charity instead? It costs Disney far more in p & p then the amount that I actually receive.

That's a great idea Tony, and I agree it would be good for it to be donated as hubby doesn't do anything with the cheque that comes to him

This page gives the contact details for Disney shareholder services, you could start there and see what happens.

Looking at Google I can find sites for waiving dividends on UK shares but nothing for USA.

I'll be interested too. I know you can open an account with Citibank but for the few cents it doesn't seem worth it.

I have sent them an E Mail, I had an auto response which said them will reply in 5 -10 working days.

My husband also bought three shares at Xmas one for me, one for DD and one DS and we have each just received a cheque for 35 cents each. Would be interested in response from Disney!!

Dear Shareholder,

payable to someone else, you would have to transfer ownership of the
stock to them. You may send a request to have transfer paperwork sent
to you if desired. You may also set up your account for direct deposit

That's a shame, there must be thousands of Dollars a year that could be going to worthwhile causes.

OK, I was hoping there may be a more positive resonse from Disney for you all.

Maybe there is someway that one of us (and there are quite a few) who have a US$ account in the UK who can somehow cash your cheques. Maybe with some thought to giving the proceeds to a charity of some sort.
