Disney sent me the wrong gift card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have been buying gift cards and using them to pay off my ressie with my TA for a while now. No problem. Well I ordered another one the other week for $250 and got it this past week. Well I noticed that is was not the design that I ordered but I did'nt fret too much about that. The $250.00 was clearly printed on the bottom of the card.

Well was going to send in the gift card number via email to my TA and something told me to check the balance and sure enough there is only $100 on it!
What the heck? Well I will be calling merchandise service tomorrow and get the other $150 onto it. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I should'nt have any problems getting the rest of my money, should I? This is all Disney's fault. I am fuming mad. Someone out there got my money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No need to be fuming mad, as mistakes happen.

We had identical gift card numbers, and so one gift card didn't work, so they just called up gift card line, and they reissued the identical serial numbered gift card, and we were good.

No biggie at all. You just call them up, and they will fix it. I am wondering...if they had put $500.00 on your gift card that you paid $250.00 for, would you be fuming bad too?

No I wouldn't. But I would still be calling to have it corrected as that would be the right thing to do. Shows me that the wrong card design does mean something. I just wonder who ever got my correct card if they will get to keep that money.

You don't know that someone received your card though. Could have just been an error on your card.

If someone does get a 250.00 card, but doesn't call Disney, then they will get to keep that amount, as I am pretty sure Disney doesn't have a system in place to catch that stuff, based on my experience with the identical serial numbers.

Just call them and I am sure they will take care of it.

I'm sure this can be straightened out-can't they look at your original order, then the history of the card? Don't get too mad until you give them a chance to remedy this.
I'm curious though-what is the benefit to buying gift cards to pay off your trip? Is there some savings in there somewhere? I'm sure I'm missing somethng.

Was wondering the same thing- if you are buying them direct and not say at target for the discount, what is the benefit?

Well for me, its a way to save for Disney trips, and you know the money will go to just that, a Disney trip. Can't really use a Disney gift card to pay for anything else.

Why not just put cash down on your trip instead of buying GCs? You can make multiple cash payments just like you can make multiple GC payments. If you have to cancel the trip, Disney refunds the money to the form of payment which was used. IOW, you will get a refund to your credit card, your debit card or bank account (if you pay by check) when you use those forms of payment. It goes back on the same GCs if you used GCs. If something comes up and you really need the cash instead of a vacation fund, you aren't stuck with a bunch of GCs.

There is no discount ordering gift cards from Disney but most Target stores carry Disney Gift Cards in $50 denominations and if purchased with a Target debit or visa Redcard you receive 5% off.

And use the Pharmacy Rewards 5% off (you get after filling 5 scripts) and you get 10% off the gift cards. Someone posted you can STACK 5% off pharmacy coupons if you happen to get multiple, but I have never earned more than one %5 pharmacy reward certificates at a time to try it myself. Pharm reward 5% is valid only one day, the day you use it. It has an expiration date.
