I told you I was waiting on the editor from the Orlando Sent. to send me the recipe for cornbread from the Whispering Canyon. Well, she just got this from Disney and it's NOTHING like the other recipe (which by the way, I tried & it was terrible). So, here is the REAL recipe:

Corn Bread

Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Whispering Canyon Cafe and Trails End Restaurant

Yield: 1 Pan

Ingredients

1¾ cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup cornmeal

1¼ cups granulated sugar

1½ teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ cup vegetable oil

2 each large eggs, beaten

1 cup milk

Method of Preparation

Add flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, and sugar together in a mixing bowl and blend.
Combine milk, eggs, and oil in another bowl and blend together; slowly add liquid to the bowl of dry ingredients; mixing as you add liquid. Mix only enough to incorporate together.
Spray a 9 x 13 cake pan with a non-stick food spray and pour the cornmeal batter into the pan. Make sure to spread evenly in the pan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Thanks for posting. I LOVE Disney recipes. I can't wait to try it. It sounds delicious. Did they give you plain butter to go with it or flavored butter? Thanks again.

Thanks for letting me know. The flavored butter at Liberty Tree Tavern is VERY good. I figured they may have flavored theirs too. Thanks again.

:bounce: Thanks for posting. I can't wait to make it. I love to try the different Disney recipes that I see posted from time to time. This one sounds great!

Just wanted to let you know that I made that cornbread recipe and it was good. It was just like we had at Whispering Canyon! :)

Thank you so much for posting this recipe. When we ate a Whispering Canyon, we had the all you can eat, and the only thing I asked for seconds on was the corn on the cob and the corn bread. It was delicious. I am going to surpise my family with this tonight!
