Have y'all seen the new Cinderella movie trailer. Talk about a crappy trailer. All they did was zoom in on the crystal slipper for over a minute. It didn't even let you know if it is going to be animated or not.
What a crummy trailer, the trailer for Maleficent (sp?) was good.

(I know this is probably on the wrong part of the boards but I didn't know where to post, this is pretty much the only pages I go to.)

It's a teaser and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. I thought it was well done.

Disney's new Cinderella film will be out March 15, 2013. It will be live action and will star Lily James as Cinderella and Helena Bonham-Carter as The Fairy Godmother

It is a live action movie. It says it in the description. I'm not sure what you were looking for. I am not even sure they have finished casting. No actor, no footage equals nothing to put in a trailer. I agree that a turning glass slipper may not be the best choice and why not just wait until you have something to show, but I guess they think building anticipation now beats waiting for material.

Question:

What is this thread about?

Answer:

It is about a "Teaser Trailer" for Disney's live action version of Cinderella.

Like the trailer? Hate the trailer? Guess what? At this point it doesn't matter...you are talking about it. In the eyes of Disney, mission accomplished.

I saw it too--- although we've all seen the slipper, and that looked nothing like Cindy's shoe!!!!!!

It is a teaser... which is different then what most people think of when they think of a trailer.

I thought it was an awesome teaser. Just enough to get my attention which is the whole point!

The thing is, the email said it was a trailer, so that is what I was expecting. If they had said it was a teaser, I would have gone in with different expectations. I was thoroughly underwhelmed and finished it thinking "I have no desire to see that whatsoever". I don't think I've ever felt that way about a Disney movie before.

So am I talking about it--yes. Will I go see it--probably not. They have a lot of work ahead of them to convince me after giving me that.

The movie has already finished filming. I think it's just so far off that they are starting with the teaser trailers and will build up from there. I'm excited about it because Richard Madden, AKA Robb Stark from Game of Thrones, is Prince Charming. Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter are the Wicked Step Mother and Fairy Godmother so I think it sounds really promising.

If you were so turned off by the trailer, then you probably weren't going to see it anyway. But you are discussing it in a public forum populated by those who likely will and you have peaked their interest. Many of those who did not receive the email have read this and gone to YouTube to watch it and then further investigate it. As I said before, you have done exactly what Disney wanted you to do with the teaser. For the $10 Disney doesn't get out of you, they have planted the seed that will more than make up for it.

As for me, it made me investigate and read about the actors. With the actors they have lined up I will definitely be there opening weekend.

It was lame, even for a teaser trailer. (IMO)

Obviously just trying to heighten awareness. To be honest, as much as I love WDW, I didn't know this movie was coming out.

I can't wait for Maleficent though!

I too was a bit disappointed, expected more than a glass slipper shot, which everyone already knows relates to Cinderella, so why not give a hint more to what this movie will offer? :confused3

But, ditto, excited to see Maleficent!
