Disney Selling ABC Radio

MarketWatch is reporting that Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Entercom Communications, and Cumulus Media are being considered as possible buyers for ABC Radio, which includes 44 stations in the top 25 U.S. markets. The sale could be completed by the end of the year.

I've never heard of ABC radio but then does this mean no more Disney Radio? that would be awesome

AM/FM dual stations, maybe? Our station here in our little town used to be dual band, they've sold the FM station, though...now we get to hear everything through AM static.

Just because Disney owns a station doesn't mean that station plays "Radio disney". The stations could play other formats.

Clear Channel here in Cleveland owns 6 radio stations.

So I didnt understand? does this mean no more Disney radio? (and I'd be fine with Disney radio if it actually played DISNEY SONGS! even when I was a preteen, their supposed "target" audience, I was dissapointed when I first turned it on and heard terrible pop songs instead of acutal Disney songs.... yeah all same for the TV channel too.)

Radio Disney isn't supposed to be part of the deal. That is what they are telling me at work anyway. I work at Radio Disney Indianapolis. Kids love it, it is the only station where they can be a part of the fun and can call in. they do plan Disney songs. They have PlayHouse Disney from 11-1 and they plan a lot of songs from the movie and even have a story. I listen 8 hours a day and although not always my first choice when off work, it is a good choice for families. You should hear some of the other stuff stations play or DJ's talk about. At least it is safe for all ears.
