Ok, so you've been there, and now you need to record your memories. As I think about the stack of Disney photos that I want to make into a scrapbook, I was wondering about all of you DISers. I'm also thinking about scrapbooking my upcoming trip when we get home!

If you have done some Disney Scrapbooking, I'd LOVE to see it. (Or even just hear about your themes.) Maybe take a digital photo of your page and post it for all to see? What were your great ideas? I'm thinking of doing a few pages of pictures with characters, but I'm not sure.

I need some motivation to get started on my own!! Kick my rear end into motion with your creativity! :cheer2: :bounce:

Thanks in advance.... I'd buy you a :mickeybar if I could!

I too would love to do a Disney scrapbook, but the time and money it takes is just overwhelming.

Check out the crafting and cooking section on the DIS board. Those ladies do wonderful scrapbooks. They could give you some examples.
Also, check out www.twopeasinabucket.com and you can choose a theme, choose Disney, and you will be able to see other scrapbooks people have made from their Disney trips.

Thanks - twopeasinabucket sounds so cool!

Maybe I'll move (or repost if I can't figure out how) in the crafting section.

Disney scrapbooking is expensive, but oh, so fun! Check out mousememories.com and have your Visa ready! Sometimes you can find Disney stuff at WalMart and JoAnn's.

I have pics of my first Disney book, but I don't know how to post a pic! I will see if I can figure it out.

I did a book from our trip last year and it was well worth the expense! I spent 28 straight days scrapping in the evenings and on weekends to finish our 8 day trip. Turned out to be 14 rolls of film, 80 scrapbook pages and about $175. :earsboy: Our whole family loves looking back through it though!

I bought 99% of my supplies here in NC at a local scrapbooking store. They had a much better selection than I saw at DW. I did use some really cool DW postcards as die cuts (for future reference).

I'm too new to post pics!

Good luck with your album!

I have no idea how to post pics...But I've done a total of 4 Disney scrapbooks. It's the only way my 5 yr old can "remember' her first trip at 2. I think a scrapbook is 110% worth the time, effort and expense. You can find greatproducts at most local scrap stores, or check out www.mousememories.com, I also heard there is a scrap store in DTD. Good luck !

Thanks all!
I have been to the scrap store in DTD, but if you don't know what you want before you go - I figure I'd just be wasting money on things I won't want when I actually sit down.

It's good to know that the stuff there is not too hard to find elsewhere, so that I can look at it and then maybe buy it online or at a craft store.

I have now looked at twopeasinabucket.com and it is awesome! THanks Merandab4.

Mousememories.com seems to be a great resource, too - thanks scrappinmom.

stephandjoe and tjmouse - Yes, it is expensive, time consuming, but VERY rewarding. My firt completed scrapbook was to help a parent to scrap their (now 35ish year old) son's first four years of life. 30 pages later.... it is a great book. Now I just have to tackle a few weeks of vacation! Compared to four years, it has to be a little easier...I hope!

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! The Disney Scrapbooks are the most looked at scrapbooks in our house ( and I have a ton). It IS worth the expense, and you and your family will enjoy them for a long time to come. -- A hint-- a cheap help are postcards from disney.... sometimes they are less expensive than the other disney things out on the market, but don't ask my DH-- he'll tell you I have everything anyway.

Good Luck with your book.

I will be making my first scrap book after we return from our trip this november. I will combine our first trip last year, and this trip into one book. All of my photos from the trip are digital, so I plan on doing some cool "photoshop" editing to them. Then print them off so they are custom size/appearance.

The other thing I do while at WDW are bring home small things that can go in it. Perhaps a "theme printed napkin" from a restaraunt, or the drink mixing stick from a delcious cocktail :drinking:, or the wrapping of your favorite snack while there :mickeybar . Perhaps a fallen leaf from a tree near a favorite attraction. Or the airline made luggage tags. Another is when we have a great meal, be it themed or just with friends, I save that reciept and will include it in the book. Anything to bring back the memories I pack it up and bring it home with us. Maybe Im a little Extreme. :earboy2: Anything to bring a smile to my face.

Doing a scrapbook is a GREAT idea! It helps you relive the trip while you are making the book, and relive the memories when you look through the book. . .plus, it's a good way to fill time until the next trip! :flower: I've done one from each of our trips--and we look through them a lot!

I don't know if there is an AC Moore store in your area, but they have come out with new Disney papers and Mickey Mouse punches. I think they may be from EK Success. They have some really cute things!

I am like FigmentGuy and some of the other posters. . .I save everything! The times guides, the maps, the drink sticks--then you can put all of this in your book as accents. I agree, too, about buying the postcards! They are a great (and usually inexpensive) addition to your album!

StephandJoe, I am glad to read that your book had 80 pages! I have planned out our book from our last trip, and I was shocked that it was at nearly 80! But I just can't cut stuff out! :earsgirl:

love scrapbooking! I will be making my 1st Disney scrapbook when I come back from my upcoming trip. I can tell you that Sandylion makes some nice 12 x 12 albums. Also, you might like to check out scrapjazz.com and search for Disney layouts for some ideas.
I would love to see your layouts on this thread - love to know your must have Disney scrapbook items - etc.
It is a really cool hobby! :rotfl:

I've completed making a scrapbook from our 2003 trip to Disney and I'm working on a scrapbook of our 2004 trip. And of course I'll be doing one after my trip this year. One thing I do when I go to each park is to get several copies of the park map so that I can cut them up and put them in my scrapbook. I always pick up some post cards as well so that I can use them in my scrapbook. I save my parking passes to put in too.
I wasn't all that thrilled with the scrapbook material selection at the DTD store. I only bought 3 things when I went. I buy most of my scrapbooking stuff from Michaels, AC Moore, or a local place called All About Scrapbooks. We were in there the other day and my boyfriend joked that it was pretty bad that a local scrapbook store has a bigger selection of Disney scrapbook materials than Disney does! I always try to go to the craft stores when they have big sales, and I'll use the 40% off coupons that Michaels and AC Moore have to buy things as well.

I have done quite a few Disney Scrapbooks.

5 from my Christmas trip and 8 from my trip last month. Not cheap, but if you are creative, it will be worth it.

PM your address and I will email you a few layouts I did without any pictures on them.

My favorite places to purchase items from are
mousememories.com
scrapyourtrip.com
Downtown Disney

If you have a Joann superstore around you, from time to time they sell their 12x12 scrapbook papers 5 for $1. The Joann Superstore in Dallas has a lot of stuff to choose from. Local scrapbook stores usually have the better and more unusual/rare items, but be prepared to spend money. If I told you what I spent in scrapbooking supplies you would poop a squirrel. :rotfl: Let's just say that I could have a nice HDTV big screen right now. :rolleyes1

I currently am working on a mega scrapbook for my 2003-2004 New Years trip. It's currently 2 volumes. If you would like digital pictures of my favorite pages send me a PM with your e-mail, I'm not sure how to post them here. I would live to share ideas. Also if you know a Creative Memories Consultant they have some Disney ideas and products. They are a bit spendy though but cheaper than WDW.
Minnesota
PS. if I get time tonight I'll try and take some then post them on my Disney Website at www.geocities.com/picturedisney

I have a "Disney" Scrapbook with 6-10 pages of each trip. I select my favorite, or most memorable, pictures. I have old tickets, and stuff from the guides you get at the parks. It's lots of fun to look through and remember. I've used AC Moore, Garden Ridge, and Walmart for the stickers, papers, and "stuff". My book is getting so big, I'm going to have to start Volume 2.

you can make scrapbooking less expensive by not buying those fancy stickers at the store and just using your own pics, momentos, postcards, etc. scrounge for whatever you can when youre there. sometimes you can even cut out a pic from a tag on your souvenier for a decoration. Im going to do mine like this since I dont have the money to burn on the stickers and things. but they are awfully cute if youre not concerned about costs.

Beware - this is an addictive hobby. After my first trip to WDW (the trip was my daughter's college graduation gift, but it was a life-changing experience for my husband and me!), I wanted to do something special with my many photos of our trip, so I ventured into scrapbooking. 3 years later, I am an avid scrapbooker, the scrapbooking led me to need a digital camera and photo printer, now I need a scanner to play with fixing up old photos, there is a whole room in my house now devoted to my hobby, and it goes on and on.....
Looking at scrapbooks is so much more fun than just looking through photo albums, and making the books is so much fun. Scrapbooking disney photos is the most fun of all, and there are so many supplies available. If you have any of the large craft stores like Michael's or A.C. Moore in your area, they always have 40 or 50 percent off coupons in the paper and that's a good way to get larger supplies. It's not a really expensive hobby (well, at least that's what I tell my husband) and it's a wonderful way to preserve your memories. Try mousememories.com - they have lots of supplies and their service is excellent. Have fun! :flower:

I would like to scrapbook, have all the supplies and lots and lots of pics, but not much time :sad2:

anyway, one thing I do each trip is take pics of "words" around the parks - they look good on scrapbook pages. Signs from rides, other words associated with parts of the parks. I know folks think I'm nuts, but I enjoy it.

For those who have a Sam's club in your area, and may not know it, but they process your digital photos from your memory card for .17 a piece (the best price around here!!) and in one hour. The quality is great.

Everyone, grab your scissors, paper, and adhesive and have fun!!

But that is no fun. :( My scrapbooks are not cheap, but they are truly works of art. I am not kidding. Every person who sees my scrapbooks wants to pay me to do their for them. I have to decline, however. It is hard to put your heart into somebody else's pictures.

Put me into the category of "have bought everything in the past few years a scrapbooker could need" and never taken it out of the closet! Drives my husband NUTS ;).

One of these days....I just know that they will be great. At the rate I am going. My DD7 will be old enough to help me scrapbook her whole childhood!!
