Hello,

I just returned from a 10 day trip to WDW and have ordered a ton of photos and am anxious to start scrapping them. I have looked on the Two Peas Scrapping Board for inspiration, but most of those crazy peas (said with love) have layouts with pictures from their whole trip on just the two pages, or they are have autograph books. I can't even fathom making only two pages from our trip- heck, I bought the Halloween album so I can make an album just of the MNSSHP! Are there any resources that you guys know of that I might be able to get ideas from?
Or does anyone here scrap that might be willing to share some page ideas?

Thanks!

Have you checked out the scrapbooking boards here? http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=123

Also, I haven't checked out 2peas in long time but did you do a search of their older pages? I have a ton of them that I searched and saved from about 2 years ago that were not as you described. I don't know how long they archive them for, but if you can look at ones from 2 years ago you might have better luck.

Try an ebay search for Disney scrapbook pages. You don't have to buy them, just look at what others are doing. There is used to be a Disney idea book by one of the major Scrapbook companies. I think I bought it though and was pretty unimpressed with it.

Have you also tried a Google search for Disney Scrapbook layouts and other key words? That might bring up some ideas.

Welcome to the DIS and happy scrapbooking!

We have just returned from a 10 day trip as well and I bought a new album to commemorate our trip. :goodvibes We normally don't go for so long, but it was our 10 year anniversary as well so we took a lot of pics ourselves plus took advantage of a LOT of photopass opportunities.

Last year I scrapbooked our trip and it ended up being it's own album with 15 double sided pages and a big envelope at the end for all the bits and bobs that I couldn't put on the pages. I cut up some of the park maps and used them as backgrounds.

One other thing I did was to create a theme - last year I took my barrel of monkeys with us and posed them everywhere. :rotfl: Then I put the book together as kind of a story.

This year we bought funny hats and wore them around the parks. I've not finished cleaning up the digital pics yet but hopefully I'll get a chance to sit down with them soon and create some sort of story that celebrates our anniversary and trip.

My layouts are very simple as I am a beginner at this craft and tend to use more of a collage style. :)

Each of my past three Disney trips has it's own book! I could never do one of those 2 page Disney books! It takes one whole page for each of my 8 x 10ride photos!

Here are a few pics of my favorite layouts. Feel free to use them!
Also, one thing that I did for my most recent book is bought a small tracing light, printed out pictures of disney characters, or a certain font or something like that, and then traced it onto my page with markers. The Mulan, China, and Mexico pages below all all example of the work that can be done with that! It gives it more of a personal touch because YOU actually did the work.... I was actually inspired to do this when I had trouble finding Mulan stickers!

I buy the Disney Scrapbooking books & kits - they come with layout ideas and Disney Papers. Depending on the pattern of the paper, I will cut it up into small sections (like the Jungle Book paper used or the Jammin Jungle Parade photos) or if there is a big character on it, I will cut out the character and put it on my own paper (I use 12 x 12 scrapbooks and some of the best Disney paper is 8.5 x 11 so I use it however I can!)

Also, there is a woman on ebay who makes scrapbooking pieces and they are wonderful! Her name is Gina... If you go to ebay and type in "Disney Gina" or "Gina's Treasure Chest" you can find her.

One more thing I use it the giant packs of generic patterned paper rather than all Disney paper...that stuff is too expensive when your books are 100 plus pages like mine are! Sorry my pictures of my pages aren't that great!

It is so easy to get lots of photos when at Disney!!!! I have been scrapbooking for several years and Disney is one of my favorits to do....
I agree some of the gals on 2-peas well lets just say....some of the layouts are OUT there!!!! anyway...I always buy an album each time we go....I make sure I get all 4 of the parks in it....eating....campground.....then any extra go in our everyday family albums.......

I am glad to see that someone else is scraping their pic's too, afterall is is a keepsake and full of wonderful memories!

I can't wait to do mine, all summer everywhere I went I got something to do with Disney so I could have a 12x12 paper keeper full of goodies to embellish my pages... I was quite ok, VERY disappointed with the scrapbook store in Down Town Disney...

I can find more stuff at Archivers than at the DTD Disney store... :(

I did manage to spend about $35 though with things I couldn't find elsewhere.

I can not wait to scrap some Halloween Disney photos.....I read somewhere on here the the Animal Kingdom Lodge has hand made scrapbooking paper in the gift store. I gotta go check that out....

Definitely check out the archived pages on TwoPeas. The last time I checked was about 2 months ago and I came up with hundreds of great pages. Just type in Disney in the search function. I came up with almost 2400 hits !

Do you have any of the Becky Higgins design books? They are not specifically for Disney. Instead they are outlines of page ideas that you can use any colors with that you want. I have found these to be so much more useful than specific idea books that work with certain papers and certain die cuts...

I just made a wedding reception gift album and my biggest suggestion is to use one color scheme throughout the entire album. It makes the album look cohesive and it makes it so much easier on you.

The obvious color scheme is bright primary colors, but if you family wears mostly earth tones, then earth tones would work better. Choose 5 or more bright colorful papers in your theme, then choose colored papers that are more "solid" like a royal blue paper with skattered tiny dots. Then pick some light solids like a golden yellow or faded blue. Then your solids. Now choose ribbon, buttons, die cuts, stickers that go with your papers.

Then go through the design books and pull out papers that work with their designs.

I can't tell you how much more quickly the whole album will go together. You can make your pages as detailed as you want, for instance make a paper piecing of Mickey. (I used one of the shopping bags as the pattern, traced it onto paper and cut it out.) Or use stickers to make a border.

Hope this helps!

Something else that I forgot is that Creative Memories has a lot of Disney things including albums and page items. They are bit more pricy than just buying at your local scrap store, but they make it simple. Their page style is very simple and focus on putting your photos in the album. You can see things at their website: http://www.creativememories.com/MainMenu/Our-products-and-services/Album-Kits/Snap%e2%84%a2-Packs/Disney%c2%ae-Friends-Snap%e2%84%a2-Pack

they have other kits also. You can find a consultant on that site. Most consultants are great to work with and if you are a beginner they are great at helping you to get started.

Thanks for all the suggestions- I checked out the section here that lovetoscrap linked- that was great, thank you for linking that!

Simba22 I love your pages, the tracing idea is fantastic and they look great!

I hadn't thought about getting out my BH book- but I just got her new one, so I will definitely sift through that today.

I love the pages the peas do, I just can't imagine only doing 2 pages on a full Disney trip! I just love taking pictures and Disneyworld provides so many opportunities.

Thanks again for all of the help, when I get a few pages done I will post them on the proper board here.

Thanks again to everyone!

Here are some of my pages from May 2007- http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/560018145OQDgjH

I bought a ton of Disney paper before we left but I tend I use it on solid paper instead. I wish they had a line of solid colors just for Disney instead of the background paper because I find the patterend paper too busy for my taste. The Cricut Mickey and Friends Cartridge has come in handy also instead of buying a bunch of embellishments. I use it alot in my albums.
I've found many ideas on Two Peas...love that site. Maybe try searching by theme such as 'Splash Mountain' etc.

I love your scrapbook pages, Disneytwinz. Your style is very much like mine and I was able to get some great ideas. Thanks!

I do have one question --- how did you get the great shots on the Kali River Rapids ride? I always hide my camera away because I don't want it to get wet (somehow I always end up being the one who gets soaked!).

Thank-You! I had to keep putting my camera in the middle storage compartment because I was so afraid of it getting wet. I had a few close calls. LOL
