Disney Rocks!!!

Just got back from our June week at the Beach Club. Absolutely fabulous resort top notch. First time to Disney with DH and DS9. I was pleasantly surprised that my DH loved it so much he definitely wants to go back. Now I just have to make it happen. Tower of Terror (never ever again) and I love thrill rides. I was shaking for an hour after that ride. And get this we were asked to be the Grand Marshall's in the MGM parade! our first trip couldn't have been more perfect. An FYI about the dining plan. It was very convenient but next time we will have to make better use of it. We ended up with 5 snacks and a counter service left over. Can't wait to go back

what were the circumstances (what was your location @ MGM, time you were there, if you remember) that led to you being chosen?

I know what you mean! We have been to the Beach Club more times than I can count - I wouldn't stay anywhere else!!

Hi Lovebond. I can't really say why or how we were chosen. We had just come into the park and were standing looking down the street (forgot the name) looking at that awesome mickey wizards hat and a VIP walked up to us and asked us if we would like to be in the parade. We were shocked because I had heard that people try everything they can for months ahead to be chosen. Maybe they just chose at random but at least know you know the location. Guest relations are at the entrance to the park as you come in on your left and we were nearby.

etmom: can you tell me more about the dining plan you used? We are WDW vets but have never used any special dining discounts (other than our AP). I'm hearing more and more good things about the plans. We are 4: me, DH, DS-17 (football offensive lineman) DD-15 (very athletic) and we do 1-2 sit downs per day and eat everywhere ranging from Le Cellier to Pecos Bills; usually at WDW 10 days.
