Disney Riviera Resort

They ride together on DME.

Is DME an amenity of a particular resort?

I haven't sat through a DVC in a while, but do they say, "Buy Poly, you get DME as an amenity here"..

I wouldn't choose resort based on how I get to it from the airport.......

Kind of like saying they all access the same sewer line.......

Apples to Cheetos on that comparison...

DRR becomes an overflow for BCV demand. DRR owners will not consider DRR as looking to stay elsewhere, like SSR owners do.

They haven't built it yet!

We don't know anything about it other than it's in the gates of a moderate that's been open for 29 years...and it will have a cable car shared with an adjacent hotel that opened at $59 a night. That's it.

To clarify...POP opened at $59 a night

I agree, I'm just saying that leaving currently from DHS (for example) a GF guest gets on a bus next to a POP guest, and both may ride the same ME bus. So I can see getting on a gondola for POP and DRR as pretty much the same thing.

If this goes according to everyone's hopes/prayers. If it underwhelms or gets the usual round of budget cuts along the way from inception to reality....

...or if you make excuses for every move they make without looking at the pitfalls...which is the standard bucket brigade M.O.

That's a really thin stretch...

I could see that if they sold GF with the hook of "this resort has buses"

But they don't. I'm pretty sure they highlight a different transportation mode.....

And if they were waiting to be whisked away by the monorail next to someone about to be dropped off by the monorail at the all stars, it would be equal.

Thin I know, just sayin I don't see it as an issue. Some buyers may well say pass because of it. Up to them.

They will have to do something spectacular at DRR for it to not be viewed in the same way that SSR/OKW/AKV do. Part of the reason that these resorts are overflow is that they are huge. I think if you could give AKV gondola access to the TTC with a stop at HS along the way, it would be much more desirable DRR. By virtue of the uniqueness of it's offerings.

I don't know what they could do a DRR to distinguish it from SSR/OKW/AKV. Personally, our favorite right now is OKW because the size of the rooms.

Will be easy to see as soon as it opens IMO. You think very available at 7 months-I don't.

That's simple...build a shop/restaurant waterfront like boardwalk or has been rumored for years in ft wilderness to provide the amenity draw.

But they won't do it...because it would require staff and they'd need more transport linkage to pop and AoA to support it...

The new wilderness has been available at the 7 month mark...because I think people are looking at it and saying: what's the draw?

It's the same old. The first couple years of this should be strong - if they do a decent build - but after that it could be problematic.

They could go high end hotel, without fussing with themeing. Service, amenities, this is uncharted I could be down for such...depending on a ton of factors.

New DVC resorts are consistently easy to book at 7 months because there are few owners. 30% of the Copper Creek rooms are in the timeshare program but thus far they have only sold 4% of the points.

Few owners (relatively speaking) booking at 11 months means greater success at 7 months. It will remain that way until the resort nears sell-out. Only after sell-out can an informed opinion be gleaned as to how owners are booking the property at 11 months.

That shouldn't hold for "better" locations...wilderness lodge has been typically hard to get. I don't think the grand Floridian was "available" at 7 months...and the poly was a miscalculation based on an overreaction for the grand Floridian.

If the buzz for wilderness was high...it would be booked at 7. But there was an old, much cheaper block (which I bet has killed their attempts to get legacy owners to buy more...), and they strip the wilderness out of WL and built white Hyatt rooms...
