Disney Rides Again

There are a couple of websites (variety and comics2film) reporting that Disney has aquired the rights to the Piers Athony novel, "On a Pale Horse." For those who haven't read this, the story is about a man who accidentally kills Death & is required to become him (and yes, it was written well before the Santa Clause). Anyway, it turns out that Death is a pawn in some elaborate game between Good and Evil (there are 7 books in the series, dealing with Death, War, Nature, Time, Fate, Good and Evil). The book is pretty good, even it the series does sort of fall apart after the 5th book.

It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, Disney does with this.

I enjoy his books but especially this one. It has a very entertaining viewpoint on death and how some people spend time in purgatory. This is one I would be interested to see it developed into a movie.
