Just curious because before our trip I though I recalled once seeing a pic from Buzz, but when we were there there was no indication that a pic was taken!

I honestly can't tell you where in the ride it is taken. I always am looking serious while aiming at something. To e-mail them, that I can tell you. As you exit the ride there are several computer terminals on the left. Usually a small line at each of them. They are touch screen. You just scroll through the pics til you find yours and follow the instructions

1. In the last big room of the ride, towards the end. Right after you exit that star tunnel thing there's a flash, which is the picture being taken.

The email the photo even gives you a link to play a interactive game at home that interacts with the park ride itself. No cost to play the game online.

Can these photos be linked to your photopass?

Not as far as I know. Unlike Test Track at EPCOT where you just insert your PP card into their reader and it will upload the photo onto your card with no extra cost.

It's possible that after you pay for your pictures at DLR they can be uploaded to your card ( I know they do this at Character Meals when you buy the photos) but you would still have to pay for them first. Not sure if this is even an option, others here should know for sure.

The room where the Buzz photo is taken is the room where you face Zurg. All the cars will be turned around to face him and that's when and where your pix is taken. You'll see the flash go over so as soon as they turn your car around, be ready with your best smile!
