Can I charge everything to my room--including tips, purchases, etc, and then use my rewards from my Disney Visa to pay it off before we leave?

Yes you can as long as you give them the card number when you check in. They will ask you if you want to use the card for purchases, tips, etc. Then they will put it on your room key (dining card, and ticket card all in one) and enable it to charge to your visa card when you check out. It puts eveything together on one card and it makes it sooo much easier.

I charged everything to my room. On the last night I went to the front desk and applied my rewards to our folio.

Worked perfectly.

cool! I am hoping to use the rewards we have accrued by August for all of our OOP expenses. I wish I could get 5x rewards but "am not eligible at this time"

you do have to put the rewards on the rewards card first (you can get them at the parks if needed)...

when we went in January (stayed at the Poly) they made me put a real CC on the key, then the last night i just went down and paid it off with my rewards card... they had already charged my visa by the time i got down there, but she was really nice and put the money back on the visa and used the rewards card...

Just a friendly reminder.. you can't use your key for some tips in downtown disney.. didn't think much of it til we were at wolfgangs and she said i couldn't use it, had to scrounge up cash!

No. First the rewards have to be earned and posted (when your statement closes) and then you'd have to transfer the rewards to the rewards card.

Just make sure to take the rewards card down BEFORE checkout so they use that first. they told us that it had to be more than 24 hours before checkout. Not sure how strict that is but we just went down our 2nd to last night and put the 2 card we had to pay our balance. the rest was charged to our cc on file upon checkout

I always put my Disney Rewards on my account when I check in. That way I have the credit sitting on my account and any charges to the room are automatically deducted from my balance. Any amount I charge over the credit is then charged to my cc on file. If there is a credit remaining at the end of the trip, they credit it back at the end of the trip.

I find this to be much easier than going back to the front desk at the end of a trip. Why make two trips when you can doit all at check-in

We were able to do this in 206 but when whe just wend to CSR in Feb '09, they said we'd have ot bring the card back down at least 24 hours before check out. Not sure why that changed and maybe it is not all check in clerks either.

I totally agree that it is easier to put it there and check in!
