Disney Rewards Visa question

I already have a Disney Reward CC from Chase but was sent a $200 gift card offer in the mail a few weeks back. I read that several others were able to get another card so I filled my form out. Today I get a letter from Chase saying that I already have a DRCC from them and to call if I want to talk with them about my credit needs. I haven't called them yet, I wanted to see if anyone else had this happen. I don't need another credit card, have excellent credit and was only doing this for $200.
Anyone else have this response?

From my recent experience, apparently you can now have just one of each Chase credit card.

I applied for a second Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa from Chase and received the same letter you did. I called and asked and was told that as of Feb 28 (I think that was the date they said) you can no longer have 2 of the same credit card.

I was only applying for a second one for the additional bonus flights too.

Sorry to hijack your post, but i have a question about the same type of card. We also received the offer for the $200.00 disney card. I was noticing that it said it was for new customers only tho. We had a disney visa, but paid it off and closed the account about 6 months ago. Would we count as a new customer since it would be a new account or how exactly would that work?

I'm really surprised that you got that letter, unless they've changed their policy. We got that offer about 3 months ago (maybe 2) and I signed up my DH. ( I already had a Disney visa) So he got it, we used it and got the 200 Disney dollars. Well, someone posted that I could also use the offer to get one in my name to. So I applied and got another Disney visa. ( the 2nd in my name) so we used that also to get the $200 Disney dollars. :thumbsup2 (thanks to the DisBoards for that info !!!)

I've got 2 active Disney cards in my name. I even called them and they transferred my Disney dollars from the original card over to the new card so I have all my Disney dollars in one place. (I'm going to cancel the first card).

You might want to call and talk to someone.....we've found them to be nothing but VERY helpful. :goodvibes

I did the same thing as the OP. DH and I each have a card but based on other posts on the Dis I applied for a second Disney Visa. I called the number on the letter and the not so nice lady on the other end told me that since I already have a Disney Visa I can't have another.

They finally caught on :headache: Thankfully i got the promotion in January and applied on line for my second card so I just beat the deadline. I am surprised it took them this long to put a stop to it.

I must of just missed the deadline. I've had my original Disney visa for a few years & about a month ago I rec'd the same offer in the mail for $200 in DW. I quickly applied & rec'd my card a few weeks later...At the time I was told you could have 3 cards in your name... Hmmmm

My DH just applied and got the card with the 200 offer. We used the card and it shows that purchase as the balance due, but still 0 reward dollars. How long before you get the 200 reward dollars?

Good to know!

it's not a link for the offer....they send you the application in the mail w/ a code that's specific to your name and address.

I"ve also found out on another thread on here that if you have signed up for a lower amt reward, you can email them as soon as you get your card and request the $200 promo instead. It actually worked for me. They gave me 100 dream dollars immediately. And I'll be getting my $100 giftcard in the mail in 2 months. So $200. Although not how I really wanted it since I'm going to Disney in April.

I think mine showed up about 30 days after the close of the first billing cycle. I called because it wasn't in there after I paid my first bill and the woman on the phone told me what day they would show on the statement. So if you really want to know, you can call or just keep checking. The reward dollars were there the day she said they would be.

I don't know about "them catching on". I know you probably don't mean anything by it, but it's kind of implying that we're doing something sneaky by doing this. I'm going to say, straight out, we called Chase, gave them the offer and told them I had a card. I figured at that point, it's up to them to decide if they should give us another 2 cards.... they're certainly capable of looking up our information. they chose to give it to us, and yes, we did benefit by it.

Any idea how to trigger this offer? We have the Disney Visa in DH's name, but I've been thinking about getting one in my name if the offer was right, and $200 would make it worthwhile.

I did not mean that any of us were doing anything sneaky. Clearly they could see based on the information they require before giving the credit that we already had a card. What I meant was that it is a very good deal and seemed to work out better for those of us who really didn't need another card because we pay off the card every month. Basically, I got $200 and I will never use that card (well unless I get a 3x or 5x offer :woohoo: )

Honestly, I haven't a clue. I kept reading about everyone getting one and all of a sudden we actually got one. I don't know how they pick and choose who they're sending them to....sorry! :confused3

Here's an odd situation, my wife and I both had disney cards with the $150 offer from 2 months ago, and about 2 weeks ago we got another invitation offer for a $200 gift card. On the very same day, both my wife and I signed up for a 2nd card. I got mine in the mail wednesday and she got a letter saying the same thing that she already has one and to call them, if they don't hear from her within 14 days they'll assume she's retracting here application. so there doesn't seem to be any reason - maybe they only do a detailed review on some of the applications.

what we are going to try is my wife cancelled here original disney visa last night (just got the $150 rewards card from it); wait 14 days, then reapply for the $200 offer and see if that work.

My DH just applied and got the card with the 200 offer. We used the card and it shows that purchase as the balance due, but still 0 reward dollars. How long before you get the 200 reward dollars?

we got the 150 rewards point on the very first statement after we made the first purchase.

Exactly, if they are dumb enough to send us applications for the disney card that we already have, might as well take advantage of the $200 gift card. it's not like we're using an online link to anyone, they are special invitations to each family.
