You have to get a Disney Rewards Visa card. Each month, for every net $100 you charged that month, you get 1 point added to your account. The points are good for either 5 or 10 year. Once you've got at least 20 points (maybe 10) you can order a Rewards Card. The card acts like a debit card at most Disney locations (parks, cruise, stores). Each point is worth $1 on the card. Cards expire within 2 years. If a card expires with points on it, you lose them.
Read the fine print and you'll see there are various limits (i.g. I think you're limited to 750 points earned in a calander year).
Actually just a correction about the expiration. The card ordered will be good til the following December. ie today...Dec 07, ordered on Jan 1,07....Dec 08.
The usual delivery timeframe is between 9-14 days. But allow extra for holiday mailings. The cards may be picked up at DDD or at the ticket area at DL in case you forget the card, lose it , or forget to order it in time.
Additional transfers to the existing card are instant.
First card 20, additional cards and reloads 10.
DDRD are good for 60 months from the month they are earned.
750 cap for the calendar year, not including any bonus promotions.
The card can be used at most Disney locations, Disneyshopping.com and Moredisneyrewards.com, also Disneygiftcards.com which is another way to use up the $ you still have on the card.
Just a word of advice,if ordering from Disney shopping ,if you wait til the end of the month be careful, since they don't bill til they ship in alot of cases, what you think may be used at the end of the month to clear out your balance, may not get billed til Jan and then the card will be expired.
